Not to make a federal case over Paris Hilton -- but someone just did.
Lionsgate Television -- which produces the MTV show "Paris Hilton's My New BFF" -- is suing two men and their Dubai company for allegedly bailing out on production of the series in that city.
The federal suit, filed yesterday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, claims that Uniqon Emirates, LLC did not come up with more than $4.7 million to produce the show.
In the lawsuit, Lionsgate claims it had a written agreement with Uniqon to co-produce and distribute the show in the Middle East.
The show was taped last summer in Dubai, but has not aired yet.
Lionsgate is suing for breach of contract and more than $8 million in compensatory damages.
Again, this is all over a Paris Hilton reality show?

Answer to TMZ's question: NO, it's about all the people involved with the show, who make a living by doing whatever show they are lucky enough to work on.
It is not about it being Paris Hilton or a Reality Show, it is about the people involved that put everything together to make that show become a show. In case you did not realize this, it can take well over 200 people to work on an entire set from beginning to end of production and on the air.
A contract is a contract. Regardless of what merits anyone else gives it.
But Dubai isn't exactly on top of the money game right now. Might be cheaper to just let it go.
