If Scotty Lago didn't volunteer to leave the Olympics, he'd have been told to leave by the U.S. Olympic Committee ... this according to sources close to Lago. 
Lago offered up an apology after a mildly suggestive photo of him -- using his bronze medal for snowboarding to score chicks -- popped up on the Internet. He agreed to leave the Olympic Village on his own accord, but sources close to Lago tell TMZ he received an ultimatum from the U.S. Olympic Committee: either say you're sorry and go ... or get ejected from the Olympic Village.
As for when we might hear from Lago himself ... we're told he's in a "blackout period" -- meaning he can't talk about the incident at all until March 3.
A call to the USOC was not returned.

Not first. Oh my gosh the olympic committee really needs to lighten up. This is going to make him more famous than if they would not have made a big deal about it. He will probably be on all of the talk shows now.
Bummer that a lack of judgment cost him the experience of the rest of the games and the closing ceremony. But he signed the contract that clearly outlines conduct guidelines prior to the games. He broke those rules and has to pay the consequences. A painful lesson, no less.

Maybe the Olympic Committee is mad at him for not using one of the forteen condoms they alotted to him for these games. I wonder if they would have acted differently toward him if he had won the Gold instead of the Bronze.
Why didn't TMZ tell us what was actually happening in the photos when they first posted them? It looked like he was getting a bj on the street.
According to other sites, the female was kissing the medal (which you can see the ribbon of in the left photo when it was first posted) and biting it in the second.
sistaelle: maybe tmz didn't tell us what was going on because it was completely obvious. I could tell what was happening without having anyone spell it out for me. Well I guess some aren't as intelligent as others....
Also, isn't attitude, swagger and bad-boy behavior part of the sport of snowboarding? Is the committee trying to neuter these guys?

I agree with the USOC. The pic of him with the girl's face down by his crotch certainly detracted from the gravity of the event. It's just not cool to use that kind of judgement. The Olympics are on going. This guy may be worthy of a gold in snow boarding but his level of maturity sucks. Grow up kid.
TMZ, just stop writing about the guy...you have done enough damage and I am still mad at you! The only good the has come out of this is that picture of Scotty's beautiful abs....I can't stop staring at it! lol!
