Miley's Dad on Lap Dance Video: 'Just Fun'

Billy Ray Cyrus is blowing off the controversy over his  then 16-year-old daughter Miley Cyrus grinding on a 44-year-old man -- saying, "It's what people her age do."


We spoke to Billy moments ago about the video that TMZ first posted yesterday -- Miley dirty dancing with Adam Shankman during the wrap party for her movie "The Last Song."

In our poll, an overwhelming majority said the dance was inappropriate ... and 40 percent of readers blamed Miley's parents -- who were not there when the dancing deed was done.


Papa Billy says Miley was just "having fun."

The guy is gay and I can't believe am defending Miley Cryus but its not like no one has seen people dance like that before. She probably did it b/c she felt safe and got carry away by the music. She's still a brat but sometimes dancing is just dancing.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I was 16 that was not "what people her age do" At 16 I was busy with guys somewhere close to my own age, and not old enough to be MY FATHER. This is truly a sad thing when even her own parents don't see something completely wrong.

Just which "people her age" are we talking about? She was a 16 year old CHILD. What a cop out on Cyrus's part. Yanno, sometimes ya just need to be a parent rather than your kid's friend. Any pools going on when she'll get pregnant or are they all for drug rehab? Mr. Cyrus shouldn't be mystified when it happens.
