Casey Johnson's Landlord: She Was a Disaster

7/14/2010 6:10 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Casey Johnson's estate now has a $200,000 problem on its hands -- which is a problem because the estate is only worth $75,000.

0714_casey_johnson_GETTY_EXAccording to the claim -- filed by Jose Luis Nazar in L.A. County Superior Court -- the Johnson & Johnson heiress signed a lease for a swanky $16,000 a month pad back in November of 2008.

In the docs, Nazar claims Casey not only failed to pay over $90,000 in rent, she also left the place in ruins, with damages totaling $102,760 in damages.

Among the repair costs:

-- Garden Restoration and Maintenance -- $22,635
-- Pool, Spa and Equipment Restoration and Maintenance -- $10,045
-- Interior Flooring Restoration -- $9,693
-- Electrical Repair and Restoration -- $7,876

As we previously reported, Casey died from a severe insulin deficiency back in January.

I don't believe this! Who would let someone go six months without paying rent? I agree with the other posters, he's after a free renovation of his property. Hope this landlord can sleep at night!!

Tila can foot the bill, she loved her wifey so much. Plus, she has a record company, a website that is killing Perez's site, and about to go on a world tour and adopt more kids than Jolie. If you believe all that, I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn. Real cheap.

Either the family is hiding her assets or they didn't think much of her.

just wondering why you are reporting on this. the woman is dead, so i am assuming you are just trying to defame her (and/ or her family) even more. i have no dog in this fight, just a bit perplexed as i do usually respect TMZ's reporting and really don't find this a bit newsworthy.

Electrical repair? What did she do? Rip the wires out of the walls? This is a bull**** case, which I'm sure they will win but still bull****. The landlord just wants to update everything in the place. Blaming a dead heiress who can't defend herself seems to be the way to go.. Sad

Thanks for this story. It clears up a lot of things for me.

When Casey Johnson (RIP) was found dead January 4th, it was widely reported that she died in a rented Los Angeles mansion that had been trashed and that the electricity and water had been turned off because Casey couldn't pay.

Then they reported that it was "her maid" who found her lifeless body. That made no sense. How could Casey Johnson afford a maid if she couldn't even pay water and lights? And what would a maid do except bring borrowed water over in buckets to flush toilets? Eeewww.

Then there was a video online from a man named Richard Kramer who lived next door to the place where Johnson died at 910 North Orlando Avenue. He took a camera person on a tour and showed the guest house at the rear of that address and explained that the home belonged to a woman who was apparently an old friend of the Johnson family who let Casey occasionally crash in the shabby guest house at the rear. It was clearly someone connected to the Orlando Avenue house - either the owner or resident or a caretaker or housekeeper. Whoever made the 911 call had an upper-crust New England accent and an icy-cool demeanor.

Well now it all makes sense. Casey did leave behind a trashed mansion with all utilities shut off. She must have moved into Tila Tequila's place in early December, most likely out of desperation (why else would anyone live with Tila?). We all saw the footage of Casey's dogs and clothes being taken from the Tila digs under police supervision.

Then, in late December, Casey and Tequila had their now infamous fight and Casey retreated to the guest house next door to Kramer, the "crash pad" the old friend made available to her when she needed it. And she died, all alone.

I've spent most of my life envying the rich. But every now and then a truly sad story comes along that makes me think. This is probably the saddest of them all.

By the way, according to Lizzie Grubman who knew Casey very well, Casey was never a lesbian. She just went that way because it got her more attention. How sad is that?
