Spain's World Cup Hero -- Flirting with Hollywood

7/17/2010 4:06 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The dude who banged that awesome World Cup-winning goal for Spain is in talks to make a huge move off the field ... a move that could land the guy in the movies.

TMZ has learned Andres Iniesta is currently in Italy meeting with bad ass real estate tycoon Tom Barrack ... the guy who's plotting to buy Miramax with Rob Lowe.

We're told Barrack -- who also owns French soccer team Paris Saint-Germain -- is hoping to get Iniesta over to his squad ... but he also has bigger plans for the soccer stud.

Sources close to Barrack tell TMZ, "The idea is [Iniesta] could be talent for upcoming scripts, movies, whatever. We aren't ruling any ideas out."

This seems absolutely ridiculous !

I live in France, and I can guarantee Paris Saint-Germain could not afford to recruit Andres Iniesta, since they are striving to recruit French defender William Gallas because of his salary, although Gallas is a free player. How in the world could they recruit Andres Iniesta ? Plus, the club's performances aren't good at all, and given the level of the French championship, last year's Paris Saint-Germain ranking wasn't encourageing at all. Plus, look at their team : http://www.psg.fr/en/News/300001/Team-Staff
Look at the player : except former French internationals (at times when the French team knew how to play soccer) Coupet, Makelele and Giuly, you haven't any world-class players (and the three I mentioned are former world-class players, not current). This team is no match for Barcelona FC and I see no reason Iniesta would leave such a great club for such a poor one. And Paris Saint-Germain if far of being as wealthy as Manchester City...

About his career as an actor, who knows ? I haven't seen many soccer player playing in movies, but the former Manchester United star Eric Cantona has reconverted himself as an actor and is doing pretty well, so who knows ?

Iniesta will never go to Paris S-G, unfortunately, this huge, historic and mythic club has lost his prestige these last years... PSG is still an enormous club in France with a lot of fans and one of the best stadiums and supporters in Europe even in the world, but sportingly, it is totally impossible to see Iniest play in Paris. Perhaps in a few seasons !!! PSG is a big club and a big name in the world of football, we can not do without a club as PSG and a city as Paris, it is totally incredible to see a Champions League without Paris ! Paris is magic, as we say in France ! Allez Paris S-G club mythique et historique ! 1970 !

"The dude" Oh yeah, sí claro... Con estas gentes no se puede... Señor dame paciencia... Anyways. I'm sorry but Andrés Iniesta's desire is to finish his career on Barça. How can he change the team that gave everything to a team that... ehm... what was its name? Oh, I see "Paris Saint-Germain" (I hadn't hear that name before, sorry). I'm sorry, I just can't compare Barça with that team. And Andrés neither can't do it. Ahora que es "famoso", ahí asoman los interesados...

Angie, it you don't know Paris Saint-Germain, it means that you totally don't know football at all. PSG has been one of the greatest clubs in the world during the 90s, it had as players Raï, Weah, Leonardo, Ginola, Anelka, Simone, and later Ronaldinho, Heinze, Sorin, Pauleta, etc. It's not a basic club, it's one of the most famous in the world, and more other, its stadium and its supporters are ones of the best in the world !
