The oft-troubled director made his first public appearance since being released from house arrest, posing for pics with his wife Emmanuelle Seigner at the Montreux Jazz Festival yesterday.
Seigner is 44 years old.

How much time & taxpayer dollars have been spent chasing this guy around? The state of California, the City of L.A., the County of L.A. all claim to be broke? Maybe if there had been as much effort & $ spent, poor young girls like Jaycee, the girls from San Diego that were raped & murdered , & the victims of the "Grim Sleeper" might be alive. But none of those case were as high profile as Polanksi I guess...shame on everyone involved. Let all of these entities go bankrupt paying the families of the victims when they sue.

#2 Stacy - "Poor" Jaycee Dugard just got a 20 million dollar payday (paid for by the taxpayers of California) and is about as high profile of a case as you can get. I'm not saying she's not a victim of a horrible crime here, I'm saying you just might want to use another example if you're going to argue the media coverage of crimes.
As for Polanski - Nice to see he's robbing the grave instead of the cradle. She sure seems like a classy lady. You gotta love that whole 'Dead Behind the Eyes' look (which I heard is all the rage with this summer's fashions!)

Do you honestly believe any $ amount is adequate compensation for what this girl & her family went through? The IDIOTS that run the CA Dept. of Corrections are/were to blame, the money should be taken from their budget. So as for "use another example", no I won't. As for the 20 mil. settlement, this stupid, broke state (CA) is probably trying to devise some way to keep some of it or tax it, etc. This is one corrupt, greedy state.

I always thought, Polanski had something to do with the murder of his wife Sharron Tate and their unborn child. His Rosemary's Baby film was like a little too close to the real thing that went down by Charles Manson and his followers. Did they see Rosemary's Baby (the film)prior to or after the murder of Sharron Tate.
Did Polanski make the movie based on what happened to Sharron Tate or vice versa.

Don't you think there should be some kind of statute of limitations on this? - I mean, geez, all these years, all that money trying to get him. One girl, probably looked like Miley Cyrus (older than her real age) - he's been punished enough, I say. Get on with your life, Roman. You don't need the US. Heck, with the way its going into the toilet, I'll probably find a safer haven for my money and my family.

If Polanski had drugged YOUR daughter, anally raped her, then skipped off without any further thought to his actions, would you REALLY accept that he doesn't deserve to serve his sentence now that he's a predatory old fart in another country?
