World renowned DJ Deadmau5 was hospitalized last night after collapsing on stage during a performance at a Washington DC nightclub, TMZ has confirmed. 
A rep for the Canadian-born DJ -- real name Joel Zimmerman -- tells us he collapsed on stage from exhaustion ... at which point, "medics at the venue took [Deadmau5] directly to the hospital, where he is now under supervision."
The rep also tells us that Deadmau5 -- Danny DeVito's favorite performer -- has canceled his next 9 shows ... under the advice of his doctors.

@ majestik. Try going on a 12 mile march with 50 pounds on your back during august in south carolina... 2 miles with chemical gear on... dj'ing is not incredibly hard, sissy

He did not collapse on stage. He was sick the previous night. He played for 50 minutes and then left the stage. The lights came on and it was announced that he was too sick to continue. No one attending got their money back. The sponsors-the 930 club of DC knew he was sick--he was playing there 3 nights in a row. This was the final night.

If your only experience with a "dj" is at a cheesy corporate holiday party or your cousin's Bar Mitzvah, you would have no clue what REAL DJ, like Deadmau5 does during a show.
It's about a lot more than announcing the garter toss, sticking a cd in, and hollering into the microphone Jennifer from accounting won the gift certificate.
Of course, unless you KNOW, you wouldn't make that kind of comment, right? Genius.

The only way you'd pass out from exhaustion would be lifting heavy weights for the entire time in 100+ degree weather... maybe not even then. What else could he be doing that exhausts his body... oh wait, I guess having your heart race at 150bpm would be pretty exhausting just standing there... I stand corrected, his body was pretty exhausted... genius

First off, he's not a ****in dj, he's a producer. Second of all it's not just from performing at the show it's most likely from him staying up late everynight working. The man is determined to bring amazing music to our hears. So to all you ***gots saying "djing isn't that hard" and all this stupid ****, know what the **** you're talking about.
