Sam Ronson's Dog Cadillac Hits the Road

8/31/2010 7:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Samantha Ronson's bulldog Cadillac has beat a hasty retreat from L.A. after a fatal run-in with a neighbor dog ... sources tell TMZ -- and we found out Cadillac has a biting record.

We've learned Sam sent her beloved bulldog packing for the East Coast to live with family  ... after the dog killed a 3-pound Maltese that was roaming the hallway without a leash Monday in Samantha's West Hollywood apartment building.

Sam -- who had worked the night before -- was at home sleeping when the attack occurred.  Some of her friends were in her unit.  We've learned the friends told Animal Control they heard a human scream and then opened the door and found Cadillac in the hallway alone -- there was no blood on the floor or on the bulldog.  None of Sam's friends are copping to allowing Cadillac to get out of the unit.

We've learned Cadillac previously bit another dog in the building and Sam agreed to send the pooch to a 3-week doggie boot camp for socialization.  Cadillac returned home just 5 days ago.

Neighbors tell TMZ Cadillac had also bitten a person in the building but we could not confirm it.

Tiger is the first fatality.

Sam, that's your bad karma back after making fun of Paris Hilton in a tweet. What goes around comes around and if that was my dog that was killed, you are gonna pay!

Accidents happen..Im not the only thing on this planet that thinks little ankle bitter dogs are anoying as all heck!!!!! Apparently cadilliac did too, Everyone knows all little dogs have a big man complex, how do we know this little dog didnt start the situation?? And if the little dog didnt die and the big one did would the situation go- to put the little one down? of course not because it is tiny and cute.. Everyone is questioning why the bull dog was out in the hallway unattended but i see no one is questioning why the little one was out. And that is why samantha wont get into trouble because the owner of the other dog had her dog out in the hall as well unattended. This situation is double standard all the way, blame the big animal and its owner because it killed, but dont blame the owner who had her dog out unattended and didnt notice that fact just because her dog was killed. she has fault in this as well people!!!!! I am a fan of large dogs only, they are much easier to take care of and my daughter was bitten by a dog before but she wasnt bitten by my dogs(rottweiler, malamute, pit) she was bitten by a little chiuaua mix and had to get10 stitches. anyone going to get mad at that little dog for that? of course not...The way i look at it--one less anoyance in the world. Good luck to sam.

I don't typically believe "an eye for an eye" - however, in this case, I feel the only fair solution is to also put down Sam Ronson's dog that killed the Maltese. That bulldog is going to continue to injure other animals and possibly humans. I have a small dog like that Maltese, a litle Yorkie, and if something like that happened and could have been avoidable, it would be all about "Vengeance is mine, saith Me......"
