Long time lurker, 1st time Commenter;
Oh, Come ON.. TMZ! This is a reach, even for you guys!
(It's a lovely tie, and no, it's not a swastika)
Before Hitler used it, this was a symbol for a sun worshipping center in Egypt. FYI It also means "hello."
That's 100% a swastika....Not even subliminal... Somewhat hidden that's it. The designer knew what they were doing. I sold men's furnishings for years and tie designers will make whatever they want.
All you people that are claiming that this design is the swastika used before the nazi's are WRONG. The outer lines of the non nazi design faced counter clockwise. The nazi's intentionally pointed theirs clockwise. learn your history before you spout off!!
get an education. the swastika should remind you of hindu temples and not some later usage in the 40s.
Hi idiots. The Swastika is a sacred Balinese Hindu as well as Buddhist symbol. Unfortunately it is highly associated with some really horrible and negative things historically but making a big deal of a tie is highly unnecessary.
*Sigh* People are stupid. The swastika was co-opted and made "infamous" by the Nazis, but was originally a religious symbol that shows up in Buddhism and Hinduism, and is a very popular in Chinese artwork (usually in a repeating pattern). Westerners should really stop thinking the world revolves around them.
