'View' Stars Fight with Bill O'Reilly ... Storm Off Set

10/14/2010 1:07 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

In a fit of rage, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar angrily charged off the set of "The View" this morning in the middle of a screaming match with Bill O'Reilly over the mosque near Ground Zero ... and moments later Barbara Walters railed on the women for being unprofessional.

Tempers flared on both sides as O'Reilly argued that the mosque has no place near the World Trade Center site because "Muslims killed us on 9/11."

Just as the women stormed off stage -- a rattled Walters proclaimed, "You have just seen what should not happen ... we should be able to have discussions without washing our hands and screaming and walking off stage."

Walters continued, "I love my colleagues, but that should not have happened."

Whoopi and Joy eventually returned to the set ... though Joy did not return to her usual seat, located right next to Bill ... instead sitting on the end of the couch.

BTW -- we think both shows should announce the results of this poll.

He spoke the truth and what the majority of Americans believe and he presented it in a calm and intelligent way. They acted like spoiled and uninformed childred, which they are.

Bill O'Reilly is right. The Mosque shouldn't be built near Ground Zero. Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar are idiots. How immature to walk off the set because they didn't agree with Bill O'Reilly. He said 70% of Americans don't want it built. They're so liberal.

Thanks for the short version, Barbara later said she would have lead the parade off the stage with them and O'Reilly apologized to them and the audience for the comment. Give the whole story TMZ!

Joy and Whoopi were very unprofessional. The show should be named, The Left, instead of, The View. My political views are moderate and I used to enjoy The View to hear all political side, but now the show is about bullying Republicans. Who wants to watch bullies?

It's a shame no one's comments could be heard because of all of the shouting by all involved. A question should not be asked if the guest is not given the chance to respond. Maybe hands up are required for those who want to participation!

They showed him. They managed to get out of him that he hates muslims and he couldn't handle it. Bill can dish it out, but he can't take it. I mean, when he had talk show legend Phil Donahue on a few year ago, when Mr. Donahue didn't agree with him, he threatened to have Mr. Donahue thrown off of the set. Here is a link to the clip of the incident on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU-XN5kuoKE Fox News has the craziest people on TV. Fox News is where all of the nuts on TV go when their last employer fires them. Glenn Beck was fired by CNN's Headline News Network (now known as HLN) for acting crazy, and where did he end up, Fox News. He might be fired again if the NY Times Magazine article is correct about the tension between Fox News and Beck, plus Fox News isn't following Beck on Twitter. And don't forget the infamous clip of Bill O'Reilly on Inside Edition cussing and carrying on like Al Qaeda was attacking the studio building because the teleprompter screwed up. Here is a link to that clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tJjNVVwRCY I stick to Katie Couric and my local newscasts for my news. That is where the sanity is at.

I can't stand Joy Behar. She is the most ignorant, ridiculous person. Seriously, how this woman ever got on t.v is beyond me. She's an idiot

THAT was a perfect example of why people have a lower opinion of women in business than they do of men!

Their little hissy fit was an embarrassment to women EVERYWHERE !

Why do Liberal women seem to "lose it" when you don't agree with

their opinion ?

"Thanks" Ladies....two steps forward and THREE steps BACK !

Barbara Walters did a good job with handling a divisive and controversial issue. She was correct in pointing out that different opinions should be discussed in a more civilized manner without yelling, threats or walking away. Bill, Joy and Whoopi all acted inappropriate during this discussion.
