You really should be ashamed of yourselves for some of these poll questions. Completely outrageous to blame Palin or the tea party for any of this.

If anything, the shooter was a communist. Your implications are scary and pathetic.

No one but obama is to blame for this mess, maybe if he had not of put us 3.2 trillion dollars in debt, or made unemplayment so high, psychos like this could afford their medicine and not sit around and be dellusional. this is just one more thing the democrats can point a finger at and blame, am shocked they dont blame this on W like everything else.

"A Republican majority in Congress would mean "hand-to-hand combat" on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy," Obama, October 6, 2010

"Here's the problem: It's almost like they've got -- they've got a bomb strapped to them and they've got their hand on the trigger. You don't want them to blow up. But you've got to kind of talk them, ease that finger off the trigger." Obama on banks, March 2009

This is ridiculous to blame anyone or any group for insanity! This is America, we are allowed to have free speech and own guns that does not mean we are supposed to go around killing people!

I question the lack of security for these politicians, who had so many threats on their lives before yesterday. People in Hollywood have more bodyguards than those people did!!

The shooter was crazy, very simply crazy! I want change in this country too, but I think I will use my vote, not a gun to do that. How does a 22 year old become so incensed to violence over politics? What the heck happened to him to think that killing was a solution? How can anyone be blamed for an insane mind except the insanity itself!

Stop the blaming and trace the behavior and find out who he associated with and where he hung out and why he hated. We need to prevent this from ever happening again. There has to be a pattern!

Sarah Palin can go to hell where she belongs. That is my vote. Politicians are responsible for the hateful words and actions they incite. There are always people who take what they say too seriously and they should know this. Playing the innocent fool after something as terrible as this has happened doesn't work and is totally stupid. But then again..Stupid and Palin are the same word.

As others have noted, automatic weapons may be legally owned. The permit to do so is pretty pricey, though.

What do automatic weapons have to do with this incident, though? No automatic weapon was used.

Perhaps if there had been more semi-automatic weapon holders in the audience (in open-carry Arizona), this incident could have been halted immediately ... rather than having to wait minutes for police to arrive while the shooter calmly walked around firing his weapon.

I knew something like this was going to happen. And yes, Sarah Palin's fortified ignorance is partially to blame. Everything about that woman exudes violence and she is proud of it. PAY ATTENTION AMERICA! Sarah Palin is the epitome of scraping up filth from the bottom of the barrel. It's a shame she has supporters. Goes to show stupid-like is as stupid-like does. America needs the best of the best educated, experienced, open-minded leaders to run this country. Not the narrow minded, short tempered, neighbor who spits the extracts from crewing a stem of wheat on their own front porch. Prayers and peace to all the families affected by yesterdays senseless tragedy.

Oh c'mon.. People who defend Palin think that the rest of us we are idiots. I am not liberal, so forget about accusing me with the naive excuse that I am leftish.

Palin always INCITE violence in her speeches. I do not forgot the last campaign when she was so crazy against another candidate that even the FBI was highly concern about his safety. Is this a good example of a democratic country? Is this an example of "free speech"? We are living out of reality and common sense. This is the problem we have for a longtime in here.

TMZ, you people are idiots to even include Sarah Palin in this story. You are seen by many the world over and have influence over what people see and therefore somewhat, what people believe and to associate sarah palin with this story is just assisting those idiots who dont know better, to beleive Sarah Palin has something to do with something so negative. Therefore, giving her a bad rep. Isnt there some sort of law against something like this, defamation or something....TMZ, you are trashy....all those who feel its necessary to respond, dont bother, cuz I dont care. However, post if it makes you feel better about yourself today!!

I have never be so disgusted in my life. You can dislike Sarah Palin and the tea party if you want, but to try to blame them for this incident is pure slander. There is no evidence this guy was a tea partier. His friends confirm that he was a liberal. His friends confirm that he disliked the congresswoman back in 2007. This guy is in no way connected to Sarah Palin or the tea party. To make this into a political issue is beyond sickening.

Did TMZ look over the information that suggest that he may be a marxist?? Did you forget that the Daily Kos put a target on her back in 2008?? Did you not see the blog posted on the Daily Kos 3 days ago in which the author repeatedly referred to the congresswoman has being dead???

What's being done here is beyond low. The media should be ashamed of themselves. I just hope people aren't so stupid that they believe it. This isn't a political issue. This is an issue about a crazed mad mad.

Let's make sure we put the blame EXACTLY where it needs to be placed, not on a party, not on politically charged individual, not on a gun, but on that 22yr old kid who pulled the trigger. He is a mentally disturbed individual who, for whatever reason, decided that violence was the solution to whatever is his problem. Sadly a Representative of Congress, a Federal Judge, staffer, an older couple and a 9yr old girl paid the ultimate price.

The evil is not on any party, person from a party, etc. The evil was the shooter. He, and only he, should pay the price for his crimes.

Automatic weapons are legal, but...you must have a permit. Fingerprinting, photograph, background checks,$200 fee. You can't just walk in and buy one. The gun that was used in this case was not an automatic. It was a semiautomatic 9mm pistol.
