MJ Soundalike -- I Sang Songs on New 'Michael' Album

1/16/2011 12:20 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

A guy who once fooled the public into thinking a song of his was really sung by Michael Jackson is claiming he sang a few of the songs on the new "Michael" album  ... and not MJ.

0116_jason_malachi_2_ex

Back in 2007, a song called "Mamacita" made the rounds ... with people thinking it was a new MJ track. Turned out it was done by a guy named Jason Malachi, who sounded just like the King of Pop.

Today, Malachi took to his Facebook page and made this claim:

"Sheesh guys, I guess it's time to confess. I've lied to many people, including someone today, but.... It was me. It was me who sang Breaking News, Keep Your Head Up, Monster and Stay.

"I had a agreement with the record company, but now the cat is out of the bag. Sorry to all my fans, and fellow Michael Jackson fans."

Check out Jason's most recent work below ... gotta admit, kinda MJ-esque.

Calls to Sony have not yet been returned.

Ok firstly,

1) Jason Malachi is a ****ing fail... it aint him on the album its just a publicity stunt cos his a nobody.

2) The dumb arse MJ fans who are 'friends' with him on Facebook are ****s, why would you want to follow someone who just backstabbed MJ and uses MJ's name for his own gain.

3) IT AINT JASON MALACHI... 9 MORE MICHAEL ALBUM ARE GOING TO BE RELEASED... IF IT WAS MALACHI HE WOULDN'T BE CONFESSING IF HE WERE CONTRACTED OR IN THE SPOTLIGHT TO FAKE MORE SONGS.

4) Your dumb if you believe this fake, talentless piece of ****.

Michael Jackson scents set for launch

By Celine Agniel (AFP) – 2 days ago

NICE, France — Thanks to an autograph hunter in Las Vegas who asked to borrow a pen, a French perfumer is poised to launch his-and-hers fragrances in memory of Michael Jackson.

Inspired by plants that grow at the late King of Pop's Neverland Ranch, "Jackson's Tribute" for men and "Jackson's Legend" for women, both eau de parfums, will be formally launched on March 7 in the United States.

Julian Rouas Paris, manufacturer of own-brand and private-label fragrances, formulated the scents in just a fortnight, under a partnership deal signed in California last month with the patriarch of the Jackson family.

"With Joe Jackson, we are 50-50 partners in world sales, television rights and advertising receipts," said chief executive Franck Rouas, adding that a part of the proceeds will go to charities favoured by Michael Jackson.

As he tells it, Rouas -- a one-time French tennis instructor to Hollywood stars -- was manning his company's stall at a trade fair in Las Vegas when two young autograph hunters asked to borrow his pen.

The Jackson family was nearby, they said, so Rouas immediately gave him not only his pen, but also two samples of Versailles, one of his firm's own brands, with instructions for them to be given to Janet Jackson.

One hour later came an invitation for Rouas to meet the Jackson family in a private salon, the perfumer said. There, the Jacksons expressed interest in his products; Rouas in turn proposed various fragrances.

Following further negotiations, the musical clan settled on a fruity floral blend for women and a more musky version for men, said Joseph Rubino, 63, the master perfumer whose nose perfected both scents.

Developing the scent -- which purports to capture the prevailing floral aroma at Neverland -- took just two weeks. "We did it very very quickly," said Rouas. "Usually it takes a year."

"There's been lots and lots of luck in this story," *** I'm sorry, but... LOL! *** added Rubino, from Grasse, the small town in the hills above the French Riviera that is the heart of the French perfume industry.

News of the scents came as a court in Los Angeles ordered physician Conrad Murray to stand trial for involuntary manslaughter over Jackson's sudden death on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50 from an overdose of powerful sedatives.

In Los Angeles, a spokesman for Michael Jackson's estate said the perfume venture was "a Joe Jackson deal" in which it was not involved.

Pre-orders and expressions of interest have already come to Rouas from as far afield as Southeast Asia and southern Africa, and a dedicated website is to be launched in the coming days, the perfumer said.

** wait... wasn't Jerm being "held hostage" in Africa for non-payment of CS? Right. lol Both JJ's mighty busy DURING Murray's trial.**

Similar his-and-hers scents -- "Mystique de Michael Jackson" and "Legende de Michael Jackson" -- were telemarketed in the United States in the early 1990s, featuring collectable bottles with hologram portraits of the star.

Another line of Michael Jackson signature perfumes, "Magic Beat", launched in 1986, was aimed at teenaged girls but failed to take off.

Rouas, 38, a native of Nice who has lived on the West Coast of the United States for 15 years, happened upon the perfume business in 1996 when he met industry professionals at a charity soiree in Monaco.

Having sold insurance, real estate and windows, he began trading perfume in the United States while initially remaining a tennis pro to the likes of film star Sharon Stone and Michael Glaser of television's "Starsky and Hutch".

Ever open to new opportunites, Rouas said he has been contacted by troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan, just out of prison, to create a perfume in her name -- to be called "Freedom".

TMZ WTF this dude does not sound like MJ. Running out of stories? I suppose this is another attempt to trash MJ like the Blanket story. Here we go again.

And thats the truth

Well it looks like Katherine and Michaels children were correct after all, or this guy wants to sell some songs. Either way, it is a sad situation all of the way around. Michael would be doing spins in his grave right now if he knew what was going on.

I was so angry when I read the doubters comments that it was not MJ's voice on the "Michael" albumn. First, do the research, for example, if you listen to the 1993 Mexico Depositions, Michael is asked : "Who wrote and recorded the song, "Much Too Soon" ? His answer, "I wrote Much Too Soon". Question, "Released", MJ, "Never Released"..........so how did this demo, made into a sweet ballad, become the voice of another singer??? Also, "Hold My Hand" is soooooooo MJ. A trained individual can HEAR the intonnations of Michael's voice, which can not be immitated, and KNOW it is him. All of this doubting garbage is to denegrate Michael Jackson and keep his parentless children from receiving what is RIGHTFULLY theirs. Please please stop slamming MJ and let his children have an opportunity to celebrate their daddy's posthumous work.

Hold My Hand and Much Too Soon were never in question as not being MJ's voice...those are obviously him. It's the three songs on the "Michael" album listed in the above article. And his children are the ones who first said it wasn't their daddy's voice on them.

You know Harvey, for a lawyer you sure do post some rubbish articles...

If Jason Malachi sung on this album he would of had to of signed a confidentiality agreement. Well he would of broken it so I expect to see a heavy lawsuit against him within the next week or two.

OH wait... there won't be no lawsuit because he never sung on the album, his just trying to promote his own.

Nice try Malachi you slag.
