Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend drank at least one -- possibly two -- bottles of expensive wine at a famous L.A. restaurant just hours before they were arrested ... TMZ has learned. 
We've confirmed ... Aguilera and Matt Rutler had a late-night dinner date at Mario Batali's restaurant Osteria Mozza ... where they hung out in the private dining room past midnight.
We're told one of the restaurant patrons recognized Christina and asked the server to send her a drink ... but the server replied, "She's already drinking a bottle of wine... or two."
The patron sent over a dessert instead.
So far, no word on when Aguilera and her BF left the joint -- but sources who were at the restaurant tell us the couple got their entrees AFTER midnight ... when the place was closing down to the public.
As TMZ first reported, the couple was arrested around 2:45 AM this morning -- cops say Matt was driving drunk and Xtina was too drunk to take care of herself.

Shame on the restaurant for allowing them to allow them to leave in such a state before checking to make sure neither of them were driving. Shame on you Mario B for not having better policies for your staff to follow in cases like this!
She needs to ditch this smarmy male gold-digger. He's not a good influence and she's already effed up. She has a child to take care of. Snap out of it.

I just read in a rag mag that Christina is a serious out of control drunk. Seems they might be right.
It's one thing to be drunk in a passanger seat but to be arrested? She had to be pretty bad off.
Bad food @ mozza so they just drank heavily plus irresponsible management = too drunk to drive. They should have called them a cab.
@ Tia, from what i've read Batili is too busy boning every women that's ever worked for him to worry about what his customers are doing, or if his employees are looking out for them. On restaurant industry forums where those in the industry gossip there's all kinds of wicked tales about him and his follies.
Lesson to learn from all of this: If you want to get drunk and show your azz...STAY @ HOME!!!...why do these peeps insist to put their lives on public display?...Sad..Glad Matt didn't wreck and kill her or himself or someone innocent bystander...that could've been tragic...hope they both think about this...Christina is going through a rough part in her life and she needs help...I pray that she gets some!!!
Yeah, they should have had a driver last night. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
