Sean Penn

Paparazzi Attack --

The Haiti Factor

4/14/2011 8:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The paparazzo who was attacked by Sean Penn in 2009 is donating all of the money he won in the court settlement to various charities -- including one cause very dear to Penn's heart ... Haiti.

TMZ has learned the terms of the settlement between Jordan Dawes and Penn reads, "All of the net proceeds of the settlement will be donated to charities that support victims of domestic violence and victims of the earthquake in Haiti."

We're told Dawes' powerhouse attorney, Donald Karpel, is also donating a large chunk of his attorney's fees to the charities as well.

As TMZ first reported, Penn got 36 months probation and was ordered to perform 300 hours of community service stemming from the attack.

Yea about that Haiti thing.... how many times has Sean said he "lives" there now and how often do people mention that he is down there - yet he constantly crops up here and there in articles mentioning him partying with Bono in Ireland (with hookers and blow) and now out jogging around Beverly Hills with Scarlett J?
Just like in Katrina, he only does something when a camera is there to take his picture, otherwise, he's got more important things to do like sit on the beach in Cabo with Scarlett drinking Mai Tai's and laughing at the little people.
Sean Penn is a ****.

I'm sure that whole "$1,000" settlement will make Sean sleep like a baby. He is such a total and complete douchebag. I wish I could meet Sean Penn and tell him what a douchebag he is to his face. If he thinks I'm scared of that, he is sadly mistaken. I'd be happy to be known as the guy who broke his nose.

Hello is anybody in there?

Sean is an ass so he's trying to look good by "agreeing" with Jordan that the settlement money will go to Haiti's. Wonder what his pal Chavez and Castro think about his BIG BLACK HEART.

BB in CA

Wow - lots of hate and doubt here. All the work he's done in Haiti and money he raised but it's never enough to please everyone. The guy does have a life.
These guys follow celebrities and when they're asked to back off, they never do.
He lost his patience and did what most people would want to do if someone followed them.

The world has gone mad! The guy works on site in Haiti, he works his networks to raise money (which cannot be done from Haiti,) more than a year on and he has not dropped the cause yet (when all who pledged money did so then and life goes on,) he is entitled to having a life and going wherever the hell he pleases whenever the hell he pleases. If you have the paps at your tail at every turn, are you looking for the picture opp or would that not go the other way around? He can't even steer clear. How can everyone be so critical? What has he done to each of you personally to feed such hatred for him? I am utterly puzzled. There is no doing go on this earth. Go pick on who deserves it if you really can't do without picking on people.

A pap and a lawyer donating their money to charity? I'm really starting to believe the world is ending.

(Seriously though, I applaud those guys)

I can't comment on the incident as I wasn't there. But I remember Penn being quoted that he would leave the country if Bush won the election. If he has such a sympathetic heart for Haiti, maybe he should move there.

Gives me a little faith in humanity.

This man is unstable. And that's the only good thing I can say about him.

Judging by that picture, the Paparazzi seems to have a nice azz. Just saying...

He's Crap

If that punk paparazzo was hovering around you constantly you wouldn't dig it either. They say provocative stuff and hide behind the law like little punks. They're the punks--not Penn.
