Bethenny

Getting Sued ...

for $100 MILLION!!!

5/11/2011 2:47 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Reality superstar Bethenny Frankel -- creator of the Skinnygirl margarita -- has been sued for more than $100 MILLION for allegedly cutting her former management company out of the biggest deal of her life.

Bethenny Frankel $100 Million
Frankel's former management company, Raw Talent, claims Bethenny signed with them back in 2008 ... with the hopes of maximizing the potential of her Skinnygirl cocktail line.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Raw Talent claims, "[Bethenny] expressly represented that any agreement relating to the exploitation of the Skinnygirl Cocktail Brand would be commissionable under their management agreement."

RT claims they hooked up Frankel with some powerful people in the liquor biz .. only for Beth to fire them days before she sold Skinnygirl for a reported $120 million.

RT claims they want their cut of the deal -- $12 mil -- plus $100 mil in punitive damages.

I highly doubt they'll get a 100 million in punitive damages. If she signed back in 2008 why didn't Raw Talent help this deal along sooner? Two sides to every story, but I highly doubt Bethenny dropped this agency without consulting her own attorneys.

Wow...I remember when she first started talking about this ****tail on the show back then and now she sold the line for $120 million!!!!! What was in those ****tails. I really want to hear how this turns out. Hope she didn't jack up Raw Talent. I would hate to hear this about her.

TMZ story details are wrong. Based on the original Hollywood Reporter story, B didn't fire RT "days before selling SkinnyGirl for $120 mill", she fired RT back in 2008 days before signing a deal with another business partner who agreed to develop her line for 2 years and sell it at a huge profit. The RT manager supposedly set B up with this business development guy, then B fired RT before signing a contract with him.

Who knows what's true. If it is true, he'll prob get his cut of $12, but the $100 mill in punitive damages is outrageous.

Broke down and bought the Skinny Margarita. It is HORRIBLE. Had to add tequila to it to even drink it. Limey and bitter. I've tried them all and Salvador's is the BEST, hands down. The premium is 30% alcohol and the regular is 25%. These premixed drinks come in 1.5 liters vs. the Skinny in .750.
AND its cheaper than the HORRIBLE Skinny thing. Don't waste your $.

no, but really. as a 'business lawsuit', don't you have to have actually lost a hundred million to actually sue someone for a hundred million?? it's not like a damn lottery ticket, where you simply invest ¢35 at kinkos for copies of some phoney lawsuit, and win a billion dollars!! are people really that stupit???!

I believe these "real housewives" think they can treat everyone in real life like they do on their show. Not going to happen. Greed will do her in.

They will not get punitive damages, as they are not recoverable in contract actions, unless of course they plead fraud or something intentional tort, which are very hard to prove. Nice going.
