M-Bone Victim of Random Drive-By Shooting

5/16/2011 6:48 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

M-Bone -- who was fatally shot last night -- was the victim of a drive-by shooting, and it appears to be a random act of violence ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

0516_mbone_EX_TMZ_01
M-Bone -- aka Mante Talbert from the rap group Cali Swag District -- was next to his car in front of an Inglewood, CA liquor store at 11:32 PM Sunday when shots rang out.  Our sources say the shooter was driving down La Brea Avenue alone in his car when he fired.

Inglewood detectives are investigating, but right now it looks like M-Bone was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We're told M-Bone, who became famous with his group for the song, "Teach Me How to Dougie," was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

White folk please give it a break, one he was not a gangster just because he's black or was a member of a rap group. The group is a fairly new artist and the one song they had out was about dancing. The whole racial stereotyping is getting old and you all just sound plain ignorant

---

I hear you but you might want to not stereotype yourself. You seem to assume white people think he did something to ask for it because he's a BLACK rapper.

Believe it or not a lot people (black, white, or whatever) don't care for rappers period, and they think equally poorly of them regardless of if they are black or white. They just see them as gangsta thug life rappers because that's the image the music genre promotes.

It isn't always about race ya' know...

this is so sad. i didnt know who he was until tmz said what song he and his group made, but regardless he was way too young to go. my thoughts go out to his family......just because he was a black rapper does NOT mean he was a thug, gangster, or that this was his "lifestyle". those are very racist and disrespectful remarks. who cares how late he was out and who cares if he was standing outside of a liquor store at 11:30 at night. just because you are standing outside at 11:30 at night does not make you a gang banger or mean that you are just asking to be killed. some of these comments on here are so racist and ignorant. RIP

Here's The Truth

Well said two cents

"If he's a rapper, this is what happens. Cry me a river. When's the last time you heard of a country star being killed in a drive by? lol."

We need not say more.

AyeJay, if you think this is funny you're another piece of shi* are society doesnt need. Let's hope noone laughs at your youthful death or your child's.

But your right, yes it is a stereotype, but it probably was a black or a hispanic, but remember stereotypes doesn't include the whole race. To make my point- Do all white men have small penises?

first off, u dont ask WHO? when it says WHO the guy was in the first sentence.

second, accidental deaths in drive bys is NOTHING NEW or unheard of in just about any ghetto area.

and inglewood isn't exactly the suburbs.

and then you people are saying he was a gang member or gang affiliated, the dude had a song called "teach me how to dougie" how gangsta do u really think he was???

"Believe it or not a lot people (black, white, or whatever) don't care for rappers period, and they think equally poorly of them regardless of if they are black or white. They just see them as gangsta thug life rappers because that's the image the music genre promotes."

yea thats a lie, Hip hop is major part of black culture, as coutry is white, and banda is to mexicans.
Gangsta Rap has been in a super decline, as that USED to be what the genre promoted, not its just a bunch of muh****as rappin about "swag"
