Kirk Cameron

Stephen Hawking is WRONG!!!!!

5/18/2011 4:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Super Christian Kirk Cameron says Stephen Hawking is WRONG about the non-existence of Heaven -- insisting Hawking is just as ignorant as ... (wait for it) ... John Lennon.

Kirk -- who is HUGELY active in his evangelist church -- tells TMZ Hawking has no scientific evidence to back his claim that Heaven is merely a, "Fairy story for people afraid of the dark."

Cameron tells us, "Professor Hawking is heralded as 'the genius of Britain,' yet he believes in the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything and that life sprang from non-life."

He adds, "Why should anyone believe Mr. Hawking's writings if he cannot provide evidence for his unscientific belief that out of nothing, everything came?"

So how does John Lennon fit in to all this? Cameron explains:

"[Hawking] says he knows there is no Heaven. John Lennon wasn't sure. He said to pretend there's no Heaven. That's easy if you try.  Then he said he hoped that someday we would join him."

"Such wishful thinking reveals John and Stephen's religious beliefs, not good science."

So there you have it ... Stephen Hawking and a Beatle connected through Mike Seaver.

Kirk has proven there is a hell - His 2 most famous roles as a tv sitcom dork and Captain Christian are a testament to that.

I found heaven once but then a big jolt of electrical energy happened and it disappeared and I was left with Jack, Kate and a few others on a boat while my buddy Sawyer and others I think were left in Heaven. Not sure but when we find it again we are going back. God is called "the man in black" which is weird as he is always depicted in white clothes.....

Haha - and where is Cameron's "scientific proof"? The Bible? It's a BOOK. Written by PEOPLE. You can elect to believe it, but that is called faith.

No, there is no heaven, or God. (Who would have created God, btw? Oh, he was always there, alone? During eternity, until he created the world 6000 years ago?)

People want to believe in God because they can't stand the thought that their parents die and there is nobody out there caring about them. I agree, tough.

I can't speak to the existence of Heaven, but I am absolutely certain Hell exists. There's a series of billboards on I-75 in Ohio regarding this topic, and one of them says (in big, bold, fiery letters) - "HELL IS REAL."

If you can't trust billboards, then what can you trust?

I agree with Aaron McFly in only one regard, 'No man will EVER EVER possess the knowledge of whether or not there is a heaven...' An object of knowledge requires the possibility of evidence - 'heaven' has as much chance of that as does 'god' or the possibility of one man's crucifixion absolving another man's responsibility for committing a heinous act. As another commentor pointed out, these are objects of belief, not of knowledge. Growing up involves learning the difference between the two.

I'm going to listen to some random christian who believes in 1 of the MANY random gods that have inhabited the minds of the people of this planet throughout history over a genius like Hawking who has spent his whole life studying and theorising to come to his conclusions..... Ofc I am.

And Kirk Cameron is a camera-hogging, attention-seeking idiot. Period. Please stop going to him for easy quotes on religious nonsense.

@Phil, that's precisely the point, a belief in God's word requires faith. Science claims to be "fact" when in reality a large part of it is based on theory. So, in all actuality those theories require faith to believe in them. Steven Hawking needs proof since the scientific community seems to have such disdain for faith.

so let get me this straight, an actor who was raised on tutors read a book that says there's a heaven, seems to think he knows more about science and physics then one of the greatest minds of out time? yeah right.

TEAM CAMERON! Hawking is a self-inflated dork who actually believes that the intricacies of everthing that is in the Universe came THAT is the epitome of ignorance.

That is not what Boyzrule meant at all. He wasn't saying that people without faith lack morals, rather that to live as thou God did not exist and to die and find out that He did would be devestating. In death you no longer have the ability to choose salvation, the place you will spend eternity has been determined at that point. Hindsight is always 20/20, will yours allow you to rejoice or fill you with regret?

and while John Lennon made what some feel was beautiful music, he was ignorant as well, and I'm sure he knows better now. If only we could summon him up to share what he now knows to be the truth.
