Dr. Murray Will NEVER Cop a Plea in MJ Death

6/25/2011 6:20 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Sources directly connected to Dr. Conrad Murray tell TMZ ... the Doc will not accept any plea bargain from the L.A. County District Attorney in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case.

0624_conrad_murray_mj_ex

We're told Dr. Murray feels so strongly about his innocence, even a plea with no jail time would be out of the question.

Fact is ... Dr. Murray shouldn't hold his breath, because no plea bargain has been offered and sources tell us the D.A. will not offer one.

As for Murray's defense ... we're told the centerpiece revolves around the fact that only two people were in the room around the time MJ died, and Murray insists he did not administer the fatal dose of Propofol.

The operating theory of Murray's lawyers -- when the Doc left to go to the bathroom, a frustrated MJ woke up and administered the fatal dose himself in a desperate attempt to get some sleep.

So we ask ...

I had thought Michael did slowly kill himself, with all his doctors that enabled him. Rabbi Schmuli has tapes of Michael and he was very unhappy and very aware of his actions. Dr. Conrad is guilty, but not of murder, but of neglect and greed. We lost the King of Pop by so many factors, he was a genius who was very intelligent.

Mr. Clean jealous of kate

It will never ever end, MJ's fans will always think of him as a God who was not a drug abuser, who was a SAINT, and was murdered. Others see him-some as a pedophile, where some kids have never come foward (and yes, I know, the last case was BS, a family smelling $$$$), a con artist that stole tapes from Paul Anka, (big embarrassment for the estate with that BIG Thing with the handcuffs and briefcase escorting the case to be delivered and it was an old so so song of Anka's, and Anka was NICE ABOUT IT). MJ was in deep debt when he died, but he still was a big enabler to his family ('cept Janet, maybe laToya, and not to Reba)Those idiot brothers NEVER GREW UP BECAUSE OF HIM. NEVER LEARNED RESPONSIBILITY. In Debt, he put his mother into a MANSION! She did not need a mansion, a nice house maybe, but not a mansion and all that money a month. HE WAS THE SUPREME ENABLER AND BECAUSE OF THIS, NOT ONE OF THEM HAD THE BACKBONE TO COME FORWARD TO TRY TO HELP HIM COME CLEAN. His death, HIS FAULT, BUT HIS FAMILY STOOD BY AND WATCHED! They did not want to lose their allowances, so it was better not to talk to him then to help him or keep him from DYING!!!! So, in guilt, they blame others!!!!

SUN Scottt

In my opinion Dr. Murray was at worst an "ENABLER", and is not a murderer, quite the opposite. Wether he died with the Propofol or not, it was going to happen sooner than later. I (being a former prescription pain killer addict), know that it was just a matter of time. This addiction leads to 2 things: Jail, or Death, and being Michael Jackson, you don't go to jail....

Enabling an addict is a crime, especially when it is a doctor doing it. Yes, Michael, like all people, are ultimately responsible for their own actions. But when others do actions that are obviously harmful (directly or indirectly) to another person they need to be held accountable. Basically, if Murray and other doctors refused to knowingly give him harmful medications Jackson would probably be alive today.

Mr. Clean wow

Dr. Murray accepted the position knowing full well what it entailed. He wanted all the perks that came with the job and along with that came the responsibility. He can't have it both ways. Dr. Murray took an oath to act in the best interest of the patient and he failed miserably. He should lose his license. MJ was a kind and gifted person. He was a humanitarian with a wonderful smile but he wasn't perfect and lived in a "bubble" at times. It's unfortunate he became addicted to painkillers and propofol for he was always against drugs. Unfortunately, it can happen to anyone as only too many know. It's a shame he couldn't find an alternative to propofol for his insomnia or at least taken better precautions.

SUN KikiOttawa

Dr. Murray is guilty of failing to put MJ’s health and wellbeing before everything else. Did Dr. Murray make MJ an addict? No, MJ did that but Dr. M certainly enabled, provided legal access to drugs and assisted MJ in his addiction. He deserves to be punished in an appropriate manner. That is to say, the public trial is not fair as had his patient been Joe Blow from Noweheresville, Arizona, none of this attention would be on him. He did wrong, but the prosecution seems to be geared to who the patient was not what the doctor did. He should be subjected to the same sanctions for his part in MJ’s death as he would in Joe Blow of AZ.

Lyell Stef

MJ was a drug addict...no doubt about it..but Dr. Murray was a doctor who did NOT keep the oath he took when he became a doctor to 'do no harm'. He, along with others, supplied MJ with drugs and in Murray's case, Propofol-something that was NOT to be used outside of a hospital/surgical facility setting and more importantly is NOT used to treat insomnia. Of course he's responsible. He left the room and left his patient while giving him the Propofol. He's an a**. Heaven help the morons who continue to use him as their physician.

Mr. Clean Satish Desai

Here is a suggested defense for Dr. Murray that might get him out of trouble:

Dr. Murray was a paid employee of Michael Jackson's promoter company - whatever the name was. In other words, Dr. Murray was not free to act on his own, as an independent professional who had control on what treatment he can give to his patient, without the fear of loosing his job. He was rather, obligated to follow the instructions of his employer, or else get fired.

As such, Mr. Murray (not Dr. Murray in this case) can not be held responsible for injuries or death caused by his actions which were performed under immediate control of his employer. The state would have to prove that Murray injected certain drug without the consent of MJ, in defiance of MJ's instructions, and with the intention of harming MJ.

To prevent such tragedies in the future, the State of California would have to pass a law prohibiting employment of physicians by their patients.

SUN Ziggy

I love Michael dearly, but he was an addict. I believe he was impatient, and frustrated, and likely gave himself a massive dose when he couldn't get to sleep. Having said that, Mr. Murray illegally brought Propofol into the house. He did not monitor Michael while he was under the influence of the drug, and he left the drug alone with the patient. These careless actions led to the death of Michael, therefore, he is guilty.

How is it any different than if a doctor left a crackhead alone with the crack, so even if he wanted to use that lame argument, he would fail for not securing narcotics. And Michael would not wake up from an "anesthetic sleep" and give himself another shot, because he already had one. Dr. Murray over-medicated him, and he's just trying to slither out of it, since Michael, the witness, is not here to testify.

It´s amazing - Michael left the world the same way he lived his life: with maximum attention leaving loads of question marks that will capture the world for years and years to come.

He could have died abroad, during those years when noone really cared much. He could have lived until he was 90 and left the world in silence. But oh no, Michael Jackson managed - unintentionally - to yet again create magic.

It is so sad that he is not here with us. But I can´t help smiling about the fascinating, confusing, mysterious way he left which makes sure the world will never stop talking about him.
RIP Michael, I think you might enjoy this confusion from up above, don´t you? :)

Anyone here read the new and improved "top comments" on this board? Every single one of them implies Murray was an enabler and MJ was a drug addict.

READ THE AUTOPSY REPORT. The only drugs in Michael's system were propofol and a trace amount of diazeprine. The issue is not whether or not Michael was a drug addict, it's the STANDARD OF CARE that Murray had for his patient.

Propofol expert Dr. Barry Friedberg states that Murray's care was substandard, because even if Murray had to leave the room, he should have had at the very least, a baby monitor to hear the monitor system so if Michael flatlined, the bell would go off. Murray did not have a monitor attached to Michael, nor did he have a baby monitor to listen if he needed to leave the room. This is what is known as PATIENT ABANDONMENT.

Harvey Levin, I would think that on THIS DAY AND AUGUST 29, you might have the decency to post a board about Michael's music, how it is setting record sales after his death. You could have thrown in something about his humanitarian work. Did you do that? No you didn't. (And I see that you must have been forced to take down the story about Michael's children and the motorcycle, since you probably stole it from Paris' twitter.)

Levin and Roger Friedman are unbelievable. Friedman, who wrote a disgraceful article about Michael today, literally made a living off MJ while he was alive. Harvey Levin's TMZ was PUT ON THE MAP WHEN THEY WERE THE FIRST TO ANNOUNCE MJ'S DEATH. Every board in the first year after Michael died, and had the topic of Michael, had more posts than others combined. So Harvey has made a ton of profit off of Michael since he died. You'd think both of them would have some RESPECT. Shame on both Levin and Friedman for not recognizing that on THIS day, they should have shown some compassion for Michael's children. They lost their father and fans lost their idol. It's truly apparent that neither Levin nor Friedman care about anything except ratings and money.

@ Chico - I always love your posts :) Thank you!

Yes, TMZ IS about making money. It´s not about compassion or humanity. They are running a business and they do what they are there to do.

TMZ writes something to get the fans upset which will make the haters join in = more visitors, more money. The only way to break this pattern is to NOT let them use you, because every time you get upset, they get you where they want you.

Michael´s life and death was all about money. He was merchandise in a greedy game. It was just about business and not many cared about the man behind the mask. Not even his family.

So welcome to our great world, the world Michael persistently tried to change, the world that didn´t understand him and ultimately killed him. He believed a change was possible. We should carry on what he started....

Nobody cared about Michael Jackson when he was alive. It was nothing but child molester jokes and everyone laughed. All of a sudden he drops dead and everyone claims to be his biggest fan.

Nobody cared when it was said months before his death that he was dying of a lung infection. Nobody cared. Nobody was outside his home all crying like they are now.

"Dr. Murray feels so strongly about his innocence, even a plea with no jail time would be out of the question."

I'm still laughing from that statement. Murray sources should exlain why Murray frantically hid most of the evidence, why he was performing an anesthesiologists job when he's not licensed or trained, why he took so long to call 911, why he didn't know CPR & why he lied to the doctors at U.C.L.A. Medical Center.

Murray keeps saying his 25mg propofol dosage didn't kill MJ yet Murray won't mention the overdose of benzo's he gave to MJ prior and never considered the half life of those meds. The only way Murray can be pronounced innocent if he, himself could rewrite MJ's autopsy report.

Have Murray explain why he purchased 10 vials of Flumazenil (overdose reversal drug)on May 12 and there were 4 vials remaining on June 26th. Had Murray overdosed MJ before????

Hey!!! I blame Conrad Murray for Michael Jacksons death. He was doing it for money. The jacksons tried to confront him, about the drugs he was taking.. I saw the oprah winfrey show when she interviewed michaels mother. Katherine said that she asked michael if he was taking drugs, but he told his mother. that he didnt I think that michael didnt want his mother to know about the drugs he was taking I dont think it was easy for the family i belive they tried. We shouldnt judge michael we should first get to know the facts what really happend. The media was always after michael jackson and writing dirt about him. Thats how they earned money. But his legacy will always be with us. Rest in peace MJ <3 <3

Missing MJ today, RIP...no more pain, no more media stalking, no more lies and media BS.

2 years ago today the world was in shock, the new, the death of Michael Jackson made this entire planet stop, the internet crashed, Twitter, Facebook, Google, all stopped. Millions, Billions around this entire universe stopped and cried. It was something I have never experienced and don't think the death of any other person on this planet would have such a profound affect worldwide. It was amazing...! He worked since the age of 5 trying to entertain and make the public dance and sing. He was the most successful entertainer on the planet. Such a tragic loss, such sadness...still huts right in the gut.

RIP, Michael Jackson...no more pain! SHAMONE!

Michael did not steal tapes from Paul Anka.. He's not here to defend himself. Anka is a broken down singer with many, many personal problems, as well as financial. Sure, he made a lot of money with his 'jingles'.. he worked with Michael and none of us know the story of the song, as it was written with another title. Anka found a way to cash in and he did for millions. If the jerk who wrote that MJ stole 'Anka's' song knew the facts... DUH, Anka no way compares to MJ's talent. MJ worked with so many people in his life who could keep track of the music they produced. So, Anka made his payday, he knew before MJ died about the song and the concert tour.. what he didn't know is MJ was going to prematurely die and that opened the door for him to cash in.. the estate just settled to get it done. MJ was a TARGET due to the settlement to Chandler. Just because someone settles, doesn't mean any guilt. He wanted it over, and it was bad advice because it opened the door for any trash to make accusations. The Arvizo's were TRASH.. LIARS, THEIFS, AND MOTIVATED BY GREED ONCE they realized their free ride at Neverland Valley was over. Michael was rarely around when that trash was at his ranch. They destroyed property, stole from Michael, intimidated his staff, and found the right person to believe their LIES in Tom Sneddon, a vindictive, Dirty Prosecutor trying to make a lasting name for himself and using the same in reporters such as Diane Dimond who is about the Less credible reporter who hounded Michel Jackson and paid for interviews and stories and got what she paid for LIES.. Look, I respect the man, his talent, what he did or tried to do for those who needed help, here and around he world. He was addicted to pain meds, and anxiety/sleeing medications, and he was able to pay those who were less than honest to take care of him. Murray has the morals of an alley cat. His character is not worthy of respect. He was deep in debt, could not pay his bills, and Michael's 'people' did not do their job and check his guy out. the bottom line is Murray is responsible for his actions and lack of actions and that is what killed MJ. He was on the phone setting up a trip for one of his bimbos to come to LA, bragging about his gig with Michael, who knows what he was doing, playing with himself.. it doesn't matter. He didn't provide standard of care, the LAPD have him hook, line and sinker... purchasing cases of propofol... his phone records, his lies to paramedics, er doctors, etc.. the guy is going down, and sooner than later, not because of Mj, but he is no one who should be practicing medicine. His lower income clients have praised him, because he runs a clinic and receives government funding... any one who could afford a REAL CARDIOLOGIST would never step through his doors..
