Roger Clemens -- MISTRIAL Over Improper Evidence

7/14/2011 9:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

A D.C. federal judge just declared a mistrial in the perjury cased against star pitcher Roger Clemens -- after prosecutors gave jurors a peek at inadmissible evidence.

U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton made the call after just one day of testimony -- scheduling a hearing on September 2 to decide if there will be a new trial.

Here's what happened that triggered the mistrial.  A video screen was left on while the lawyers had a private conversation with the judge.  The screen displayed comments from Congressman Elijah Cummings at a House hearing, in which Cummings seemed to indicate Clemens was lying when he denied using HGH or steroids.

The seven-time Cy Young winner is accused of lying about taking performance-enhancing drugs in a 2008 testimony before Congress.

Justice for the rich and famous, once again. If you're poor, you ain't got a hope in hell when you go on trial.

The guys a known bully, cheat, fraud, cad and child sex predator. Mindy McCready at age 15? Dude that will get you thrown in prison and labeled a sex offender for life in some states. Either way, if he gets off totally on this, shame on the Justice System, MLB, and America. No Hall of Fame, no endorsements, no appearances for this guy..His wife must be the dumbest woman out of Texas staying with a psycho like this one. Pity their sons. All named with a "K"---to honor the darling daddy cad himself.

@Sunshine:

You don't understand. He just got away with lying. He got away with taking steroids and growth hormone. He got away with having sex with an underage girl, Mindy McCready. Isn't that enough for you? He's so rich and famous, he'd probably get away with murder if he tried. Same laws for the rich and poor, just different results. That's because the rich people set up the legal system to protect themselves. They're not stupid enough to set up a system that provides equal justice for all, more or less.
