Jalen Rose's New Mug Shot

TIPPING OFF 20 DAYS IN JAIL

8/2/2011 5:10 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

080211_jalen_rose_v2_mug_shotMoments before beginning his 20-day jail sentence for DUI this morning, former NBA star Jalen Rose posed for a brand new mug shot ... obtained by TMZ.

Rose checked into Oakland County jail outside Detroit at 8AM to kick off his sentence -- which his lawyer called "outrageous."

As TMZ first reported, Rose was arrested for DUI back in March -- after crashing his car into a ditch.

The judge that sent him to jail sends all first time DUI offenders to jail. His attorney is causing more problems for him.

A Yahoo! Sports story published August 12, 2010, reported that Stallworth's lawyers indicated he could have fought all charges with "an excellent chance of being found innocent," but that Stallworth chose to be convicted of a felony to do what he felt was morally right. The article later notes that David Cornwell, one of Stallworth's attorneys, felt there was irony in the reaction to Stallworth's decision because the public and media criticized the plea deal without knowing the full story of how Stallworth got drunk and ran a man over, killing him, and only got 30 days

Jail seems to have erased that always present goofy chit face grin of his. I bet the real G's will have a fun time with the prissy little queen behind bars.

The fact that he got busted for speeding again AFTER the DUI sentencing shows you why this man needs the 20 days to think about what he could have done, i.e. kill an innocent bystander.

I was in court the same day he had his case (48th district in Bloomfield Hills) only 2-3 news trucks outside though. He had judge smalls, the same judge I had for my DUI, and I was sentenced to 17 days (no car accident). He got off like a bandit, she has been known to hold people in contempt on non-jail offenses just to throw them in, Judge Smalls has also sentenced first offense DUI's to 93 days. He got SUPER ******* lucky.
