Performing at MJ Tribute Concert

... Via Satellite

8/22/2011 11:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

just joined the growing list of A-listers performing at the upcoming MJ Tribute Concert in Wales -- but unlike the rest of the line-up ... she'll only be a glimmer of her former self.

Promoters behind the "Michael Forever Tribute" in October just posted the announcement to their Facebook page -- Bey will perform one of her favorite Jackson 5 songs ... via satellite.

Sadly, Beyonce couldn't perform live due to scheduling issues -- but this is almost the same, right? Right?

Hi Mymjj5,
just wondered...

No doubt you heard the story about Beyonce finding MJ curled up in his dressing room, unable to perform due to stagefright?
I think it was supposed to have happened in London a few years ago, but can't remember exactly where or when.

I took it with a pinch of salt - there's just so many stories out there that it's hard to know which to believe.

Wondered if you knew anything about it?

hi mymjj5..
i never heard p diddy say anything negative about mj at a matter of fact i heard a song he and some other tribute song rappers wrote for him, called.."better on the other side "only heard it once but it was very moving..
i agree, mj needed no invitation to a was an honor for him to show up..i really liked the story diddy had on letterman..
i have never read anything about mj having stage fright and beyonce....
i am sure he was apprehensive due to the post traumatic stress of that ridiculous trial, but once he walked out on stage and everybody is cheering wildly for him like always..i am sure that soothed his nerves..
have a good day all!

Regarding the 'stagefright' incident:

The Times is generally considered a credible news source.... But who knows where MJ is concerned.

I'll buy the dating part of the story. We all know Michael's reputation for the married ladies.....Yet he'd just walk away from a "single lady" crying?????? not buying that one bit. Not to mention the fact that Beyonce has nothing but head over heels love and admiration in her heart for michael.....
This is what I heard from the Beyonce/Michael hookup. They were dating at the beginning but her father Matthew Knowles felt that Michael was too old for Beyonce. He was 40 and she was 20. Then Beyonce met Jay-Z (who is slightly younger than Michael) at another party and she became his girlfriend right away and Michael lost the fight to win her heart but Beyonce and Michael remained friends. I also heard and I don't know if it's true that Michael was invited at Beyonce's super private wedding and he sang for the newlyweds. When Michael was on trial in 2005 Beyonce and Jay-Z made sure they called him on the phone everyday to cheer him up. Also Michael respected Beyonce and never tried to steal her away from Jay-Z because Jay-Z and him had become friends.

35 Michael Jackson Fan Communities Call For Cancellation of 'Tribute' Concert
Sunday, 21 August 2011 Written by Elliott Batte

The door is slowly closing on the Michael Forever Tribute concert, set to take place at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on October 8th, after over 35 of the leading Michael Jackson fan forums issued a statement advising the organisers Global Live Events to cancel the gig.

The open letter, led by MJJCommunity, the largest online Michael Jackson forum, highlights their refusal to support the gig and describes the concert as ‘doomed’. They also heavily reiterate points such as the addition and removal of Gene Simmons and his band KISS, who publicly branded Michael a child molester, despite the singer being cleared of all charges in 2005, and the fact that the show is scheduled to take place during the Conrad Murray manslaughter trial.

A part of the letter reads: “From the timing of this tribute, in the middle of Dr. Murray's trial, to the ticketing prices, to the obscurity over what charities will be receiving the donation, to the no-guarantee policy of performers, the addition of Gene Simmons and dishonoring, thus tarnishing Michael Jackson's legacy was simply the last straw.

“With the damage done, it will be the fans who work hard to overcome this debacle for Michael Jackson's legacy.”

A video protesting the tribute has also been created, which you can see embedded below.

Pressure has been growing on promoters Global Live Events to cancel the gig – initially, it was just Randy and Jermaine who opposed the concert. In a significant twist to the saga, last week, Michael Jacksons' Estate published an open letter they sent to Global Live Events concerning the show, forums worldwide have displayed their displeasure at the concert and even the event organiser's official Facebook page has been bombarded with attacks from fans.

Now this fan community letter, which is supported by MJ forums in countries like USA, UK, China, Russia, Germany and many, many more, encompassing million of registered fans, has edged the tribute closer to a premature end.

Organiser Paul Ring recently made comments regarding the future of the concert to the BBC, saying “The concert is very much going ahead.”

The registration period for the concert is set to end at midnight today (August 21st). The organisers have indicated that tickets are set to go onsale at 9.30am BST on Wednesday August 24th, with those that preregistered for tickets being contacted within 24 hours.

Do you think the show will still go on? Or do you believe the concert should being cancelled? Tell us in the comments section below.

''Regarding the 'stage fright' incident:

You said -

''The Times is generally considered a credible news source.... But who knows where MJ is concerned''

- The Times is part of the Murdock Group of newspapers, it is nothing more than a polished up version of NOTW and the Sun etc of which are part of his group.
It is geared toward a 'Public' that they perceive to be 'intelligent' of whom the publishers geared their output to those who view tabloids & their reporters as ''non grata'' and down market.

If you honestly think that The Times is a credible news source, which simply regurgitates some tabloid nonsense from their sister news paper & fashions it to appeal to an intrinsically intelligent portion if the public. You of all people should know this being from the UK.

Michael Jackson did not suddenly after forty five years in the entertainment business develop what that 2006 very biased article inferred , and quite simply why would you post it here again? It Serves NO purpose.

As a fan it is really way beyond comprehension.
