Military Stores

We're BOYCOTTING Soulja Boy

9/6/2011 4:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

A system of stores run by the United States Department of Defense will NOT be stocking Soulja Boy's upcoming album -- so long as it contains the rapper's army-bashing song lyrics.

LTC Thomas Shrader from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service -- an agency run by the USDOD -- tells TMZ, Soulja's "Respect My Hustle" will have no place on the shelves of its 3,100 facilities ... whose MILLIONS in profits go to benefit armed services programs every year.

As we previously reported, the outrage is all over the rapper's new song "Let's Be Real" -- in which Soulja raps, "F**k the FBI and the army troops." Soulja has since apologized.

Shrader tells TMZ, Soulja's lyrics "are unacceptable and not the kind of thing we would want to market.”

But there's still hope for SB -- if the song ultimately gets cut from the album ... we're told the Exchange will reevaluate the ban.

He has freedom of speech and just like groups have said F-the police, he can say that too, however, he cant get mad from the backlash, try to apologize or try to sue when he is blacklisted from the post exchanges and what other small other markets he may be in. So to Soulja Boy the troops say "right back at cha"....

As a Vet this "Hard" kid can go back to whince he came no one listens to his crappy ass music except 11 year old girls and wanna bees. So no big loss if he is not on our shelves after a "rap" song like that a definately should be put on the "NO FLY" list and Baned.

Soulja Boy is so.....2007. "Ringtone rap" days are DEAD. He hasn't had a mainstream hit since 2009 and his latest album was one of the biggest flops of last year. He was so embarrassed he didn't even log in to his Twitter account for over a week.

Nobody wants to buy his album anyways. LMAO.

No one is taking his freedom of speech away people. Every single person that calls them selves American should be offened. Have we forgotten that we were attacted 10 years ago all were hurt in some way. Have we forgotten that this country had to FIGHT (that means violence and blood shed) to be what we are today. Have we forgotten the importance of Patriotism and support is helping in ways to keeping this country alive. Anyone who feels the need to "defend" Soulja Girl should just leave the country you are only incouraging his child like behavior.

I believe that what soulja boy said was a slap in the face to all the veterans that have fought and the ones who died for this country. All his music should be boycotted from the stores.

I was a fan until I heard about this. Souljaboy couldn't apologize enough for this anti-military flub because no matter how much he apologizes the lyrics AREN'T CHANGING! What a dumb*** thinking that his words wouldn't start an active rebellion.

Does not matter if his manager or if anyone else wrote the lyrics.... He has the right to refuse to sing them or to change them. He out of his own free will chose to sing those lyrics/words!

I commend Soldier Boy for taking a stand against the biggest "bullies" in the world, The United States Government. For years, they have invaded other countries, stole their land, killed their people, and raped women and children. Seriously, we give soldiers a pat on the back for that? Morals and common sense have taken a backseat to stupidity and a brainwashed society, as the countless messages display. Being in the military is just like any other profession, you make a CHOICE! If that choice is to defend a nation over bloodshed, turns their back on you once you return for duty, engage in senseless "war games" that kill innocent people, while government officials make "back door" deals for oil, money and weapons. If that is what you call a "brotherhood", YOU CAN HAVE IT! Wake up, people! The government is not your friend. If they can successfully pull off one of the biggest acts of terror (9/11) against their own people, I am sure more is in store... You have been warned!!

To all you fools on here making remarks about the outrage from the military community. First, they are not saying SB can't say or sing what he wants, they are saying they won't sell/buy it in the stores and rightfully so. Second, they are outraged over the fact that they do fight for freedom of speech, but this guy shows them no respect by using language to down them in his song after what they do for him, ( fighting for his rights to say what he wants ) If someone ask me for a favor, and I do it for them, then they come back and kick me in the face, then naturally I will no longer have any thing to do with them. It's not like this is hard to understand even for morons like some of you on here.
