The Game

Closeted Gays Spread AIDS

9/8/2011 10:56 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

090811_thegame_video2Rapper The Game believes closeted gay men are spreading AIDS by "fooling" women into having sex with them.

Game just gave an interview to VLADTV -- saying he doesn't have a problem with most gay people -- just the ones who are "pretending" not to be gay and sleeping with women.

Game says, "The #1 issue with that is you could be fooling somebody and you could give them AIDS and they can die ... and that s**t spreads because that girl you might be fooling might leave you and go find another dude who ain't gay and give him the disease."

Game seems to be saying that all closeted gay men have AIDS ... and he wants them to come out of the closet in a Scarlet Letter sort of a way -- so people know to avoid them unless they want to get AIDS.

AIDS isn't a "gay" disease. However, there are PLENTY of closet-cases out there playing the "faithful" husbands AND wives that are not faithful at all. YOU know how you are. Don't you.

I think he just wants some publicity. All the stories I've been seeing about him lately are ridiculous!!

1) HIV infection rates are on the rise among gay men because of a declining prevalence of safe sex practices; and 2)the fastest growing population of HIV infected people are young black women. 3) Be honest with yourself and your sex partners.

I would be OK with this if he was smart enough to realize that the underlying theme is not that gay people spread AIDS, but that lies and deception spread the disease. And that's true with all STDs, not just AIDS.

You don't have to worry about AIDS if you aren't having unprotected sex. If you like the feeling of having unprotected sex more than your health, then that's your bad.

Your having unsafe sex with your current girlfriend/boyfriend and they had unsafe sex with their previous girlfriend/boyfriend...it's a massive web and becomes a numbers game. When you're number's up...that's it. Game Over.

It does happen, you read about it all the time, someone with aids sleeping around TRYING to spread it, especially to women.
Some say it is so they get more funding to combat Aids altogether with more money for research. Why are you all acting like something like this doesn't happen, IT DOES ! Don't put your heads in the sand and not want to believe it.

Oh PLEASE!!!!! His language is crude, he is not saying all closeted gays have AIDS. But, some of what HE IS SAYING IS TRUE, I was an AIDS counselor in the 1980s. There were WOMEN who ended up HIV+/AIDS and at first, HAD NO IDEA HOW IT HAPPENED. Women who had no risk factors, thought they were in a monogamous relationship, might have even been tested before marriage. Then they, or hubby start getting sick. Or she is shocked, being called into a counselor after donating blood. Or, she gives birth, a happy time, but depending on the state, laws were passed to test babies for the virus. So, the mother would be contacted that her baby had the virus. The child might not actually have the virus, there was a chance, passive immunity, the antibodies might just be from the MOTHER! So, just, the Dr. would say, You are infected. Devastated at would should be a wonderful time. People would say wives should have a clue about it, but if they had a husband that did not work a reg. 9-5 shift, or IF HE TRAVELLED FOR WORK, His wife could never know, and yes, he would in the 80s be sentencing himself to death, but also, someone who had NO IDEA WHAT WAS HAPPENING. Was that fair? And some cases we were given among the education, would be in 'middle America', the Midwest, 'hubby' would travel for work to areas like San Fran, Vegas, LA or NYC and..... brought back a deadly souvenier to their wives. Diff. stories, but same type of story, ALL TRAGIC.

I think what The Game is saying here is being misinterpreted. I worked at an ASO (AIDS service organization) for many years and I think what he's describing is being "on the down low". This happens when a man has sex with man, often regularly, but does not identify as gay. It's seen a lot in populations of color where, for cultural reasons, a man may be less likely to be able to deal with the idea of being homosexual, much less with 'coming out'. Very often, a man won't use protection in these encounters because doing so would be an admission of what he was there to do, and they are very good at denial. They would further not talk to their wives about this and would go through extraordinary efforts to keep it a secret from them. While I was in the field, we saw a great deal of new infections coming from women in this situation - they would have no idea what their husbands/partners were up to, and how often does a woman ask her husband to wear a condom to prevent disease? It's a vicious cycle for these women and very sad. IMO - this is what The Game might be referring to...of course, I could be wrong. :)

Most Blacks are fine. But my problem is with all these rappers. They are such misogynistic, homophobes. Hearing these uneducated buffoons give any type of social commentary would be funny if it wasn't so ironic and uninformed.
