The ex-fiance of a woman who appeared on "The People's Court" has been named the primary suspect in her disappearance.

Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney just announced Dale Smith is the target of the investigation.  Smith appeared with Michelle Parker on the show, arguing over the engagement ring.

Chief Rooney says Smith refused to take a polygraph test.

Parker's mother, Yvonne Stewart, made a plea during the news conference:  "If you could have avoided this Dale, if you had cooperated with the police and took a polygraph test when they asked you, you could have avoided a lot of stress ... We're not going to stop until we find out who did this."

Smith has been missing since November 17, the day the show aired.

Wasn't he just not even a person of interest? I'm not even a cop and I knew he should be looked at good and hard before clearing him.

Parker's been missing, not smith. Is Yvonne Stewart Smith's mother or Parker's? This article needs some serious editing...

Polygraph tests are not admissible in most courts for one very good reason: they are not reliable. Honest people can fail them, and s***bags pass with flying colors. Only on TV is a polygraph a nice stress-free way to clear your name--most lawyers will tell you that taking a police-administered test is an easy way to make yourself the prime suspect, even if you are completely innocent.

Polygraphs are not 100% accurate, inadmissbale in court and he has a right to decline. Furthermore, since they test stress level, I'd be suspicious of someone in his position who did pass a polygraphy because that's a person with ice in their viens. Dale, I suggest you get your affairs in order, especially child custody because innocent or guilty, the cops are out to get you.

People sure are getting good about hiding dead bodies these days. Is there a college course or something I could take to learn the fine art of secret disposal?

I knew this guy was going down. He did something to her. I guess it's a normal thing to kill your significant other or your kids these days.

I thought he had been ruled out as a suspect. I can tell this investigation will go well.
