9/11 Widow to Alec Baldwin

'Take Responsibility'

for YOUR Actions

12/8/2011 3:50 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Alec Baldwin
invoking 9/11 during a rant against the air industry was totally "inappropriate" ... and the widow of an American Airlines co-pilot killed in the tragedy thinks Baldwin should simply admit he was wrong.

TMZ spoke with Cheryl McGuinness Hutchins -- whose husband Tom was in the cockpit of the first plane to hit the World Trade Center.

Cheryl was reacting to Baldwin's blog -- in which he wrote, "I believe carriers and airports have used [9/11] as an excuse to make the air travel experience as inelegant as possible."

CMH tells us, "I absolutely think [Baldwin's statement] was an inappropriate comment to make" ... adding, "I believe airlines used what happened on 9/11 to increase security and protect passengers as much as possible -- not to make traveling inelegant."

She continues, "If [Alec] did something inappropriate ... he shouldn’t have to point the finger at a world tragedy. He should just take responsibility for his actions and admit he should have gotten off the phone.”

A source close to Baldwin tells us, "Alec had absolutely no intention of offending families, victims or anyone else associated with the horrible tragedy of 9/11. He only referenced that date in relation to discussion of the resulting impact on the airline industry."

It all boils down to these privileged celebrities acting like spoiled children with their exploding tantrums. We treat them with reverence and they expect that treatment ALL THE TIME! This will never change because they are rich and we are not.

"A source close to Baldwin tells us..." What, suddenly Baldwin needs someone to speak in behalf of him... because his ego is so fragile that he doesn't want to appear to concede that he's is the embodiment of this country's culture of entitlement; " I'm [rich, a politician, white, a celebrity, a woman, gay, pro choice, have friends in high/low places] the rules don't apply to me" and it's really bad when three or more of these are in alignment.

All he had to do was turn his crap off and not throw a tantrum, but that was too much for him. Too bad this had to inconvenience a bunch of other people with their own lives that didn't need this kinda crap in their day.

AGAIN . . . TMZ is TRYing their best to milk this story by calling Greyhound and now a 9/11 widow to get comments. Classy TMZ! It's no surprise Baldwin is a pompous guy with anger issues . . . but TMZ doesn't need to be milking the story for comments of those who have nothing to do with it.

Think about it, people. They won't allow liquids or nail clippers on the plane because they are "dangerous", but they will allow cell phones and iPads on when they can supposedly interfere with the plane's systems? Right. It's an arbitrary rule from authoritarians.

i actually don't have a problem with what he said because he's kind of right. Since 9/11 airports and airlines feel they can do whatever they want to you. A 90 year old woman being strip searched and missing her plane as a result, rude workers throughout the airport and airlines. He does have a point with what he said.

Time to grow up Alec, like your other brothers have. Maybe Alec needs God just like Stephen and Daniel found. The way Alec has handled all of this proves he's still the same man calling his daughter a pig.

You cannot make animals behave like humans. These disgusting entitled, egomaniac, impetuous, hacks are the lowest of the low. They don't care bout society. They thrive on sticking it to society.

Seriously wtf

Alec should apologize to Greyhound and say, "You are right, Greyhound, actually your service is better than AA." Ha

I'm a huge fan of Alec Baldwin. I'm glad he has voiced his opinion about TSA. I've had too many bad experiences with them. Thanks for sharing. Dr New Me, Dr Daniel Shane Sheibani Davidson

Baldwin seems to love the sound of his own voice, even if it's spouting BS.

Sure he intended to offend, he offended everybody that has flown on ANY airline. He's a horse's ass that feels because he is a "star" he has the right to do whatever he wants. If this jackass wants ELEGANT, buy a farking plane.

Cheryl is wrong. Had the screeners at the airport did their jobs, 9/11 wouldn't have been successful. Those hijackers set off the metal detectors like a wind chime before being allowed through with every box cutter.

I hardly think that Alec Baldwin meant to insult this widows husband or offend people affected by 9/11. I think thats a very wide leap of imagination to come to by the words he said taken in context not wildly out of context he has a point since the tragedy of 9/11 Airlines have been more difficult to navigate and sometime Airline employees do cross the line in searching a person or just plain being rude. Greyhound is alot different that 20 years ago. they are very luxerious now comfortable you can even watch a movie in one. I think he's a bit of a hot head but how many more people need to jump down his throut about this.
