Nicole Scherzinger

30-Minute Crying Session

After 'X Factor' Elimination

12/9/2011 8:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Nicole Scherzinger ran off the set of 'X Factor' in tears last night ... when the audience booed her like crazy for eliminating Rachel Crow ... and TMZ has learned she was hysterically crying in her dressing room for nearly a half-hour.

Nicole was charged with casting the final vote between Crow and Marcus Canty ... but didn't want to eliminate either .. so she sent the vote to "Deadlock" -- which meant it all boiled down to the audience vote.

Crow lost ... and broke down in tears ... and when the host of the show asked Nicole to comment, the crowd unleashed a chorus of boos.

Sources connected to the production tell TMZ ... Nicole bolted right for her dressing room ... and was "inconsolable" about the situation.

We're told Crow -- who was a crying mess herself -- heard about Nicole and went to the judge's dressing room ... where the two cried together and Crow told Nicole she was not mad about the decision.

It's been a rough couple of weeks for Scherzinger -- as TMZ first reported, she had already been getting death threats and hate mail for voting Drew Ryniewicz off the show last week.

So is this show pretty much the same as American Idol? I never bothered watching it.

I think all of the heat Nicole is getting is unfair. There are many steps that could have saved Rachel Crow before Nicole's vote. America could have given her more votes and she would have not even been in that position. Besides, Rachel will do just fine, she is talented and will no doubt have a career as a result of the X Factor. Nicole seems to be a very caring and engaging judge/mentor * give her a break!

Nicole is a ghetto skank and she is probably blowing Marcus.

Get a grip, Rachel! You want to be on the big stage but you obviously can't handle the pressure. She should be back in middle school and not on a show like this. What is wrong with these parents???

Its obvious nicole made a deal made a deal with LA to never vote against his artist and he will give her a record deal when this is all over. She is a sell out and I hope Simon sees what is going on. Rachel was clearly better.

i'd cry inconsolably too, i'd still be crying... if i was too cowardly to DO THE JOB I WAS BEING PAID TO DO, and didn't cast my vote for the BEST SINGER (and America called me out on it and now hated me for it). seriously nicole, the decision was that hard????? really? it seemed pretty obvious to all of the viewers (umm.. AND THE OTHER JUDGES). After last night, NICOLE TOTALLY DISGUSTS ME. Fall off the planet, will ya?

Rachel was not saying, "Mommy, you promised! Mommy, you promised!". She was asking a question, "You promise?" after her mother told Rachel, "It's okay, Baby". Watch it again and you can clearly see this is the case.

I think Rachel was in shock and has probably worked harder than any of us can imagine to make her dream come true, which is why she collapsed and sobbed when she heard that her dream of winning the X Factor was over.

I have to say, that Rachel Cros behaved like a spoilt brat about the whole thing. 13 or not!

Did you see all those crocodile tears she was putting on? And that faux 'collapse' she did on the stage? What about all that squallering and carrying on, what a load of histrionics ! LOL

Not to mention when her Mommy came out of the wings (when the cameras zoomed in away from the announcer)funny how all those little waterworks just dried right up and she said bellowed, "You promised me!"

Gee, reminded me of that awful rotten and entitled turdette Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka :D AKA the Blueberry Girl.

Wretched Rachel. She fits right in with the rest of the Disney brats if you ask me. Good riddance.

This is not unusual.
Where shall we eat tonight?
'You decide."
What show would you like to watch?
'You decide.'
Who should I vote for?
'You decide."
I am just not able to make important decisions.

DO WHAT YOUR HIRED TO DO !! JUDGE . THE VOTE SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED THAT PREFORMANCE ALSO .THIS GIRL WAS ROBBED thanks to a spinless waste of space.Ihave lost tottal interest in this show because some no talent is supposed to do what shes there for and folds. It was without a doubt who soared in the face off . I trust Simone sends her packing . It hurt the show .

Why can't Nichole make up her own mind? When she made her (so called decicion), she kept looking at L.A. Reid. I think he is the puppet master, and he's pulling her strings. Saving Marcus was a waste of time. After what they did to Rachel, no one will ever vote for him again. America has said for three weeks in a row that they don't want Marcus, but Nichole and L.A. are keeping him in the competition each week. Nichole needs to get some backbone, and L.A needs to stop voting for his lousy boys. They both suck!

even though both Simon and Paula pulled the same kind of non-decision in weeks past, the reason it was different with Sherzinger is that people were already starting to hate her for being so fake and dumb. this was just the straw that broke the camel's back because it was obvious that she wasn't truly torn. she wanted to send home Canty but didn't want to be blamed for it. how else to describe her shocked reaction. she expected the American public to send home Canty, and do her dirty work for her. she's a liar and a coward.
