Lady Gaga Lawsuit

Whiney Assistant Claims Gaga

Demanded Towel After Shower!

12/25/2011 7:08 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Lady GagaIn what reads like one of the biggest sour grapes lawsuits of the year, Lady Gaga's former assistant claims she was a slave to the singer, having to do such unconscionable things as fetching a towel for her after she showered, and keeping GG on schedule!

Jennifer O'Neill says in her lawsuit ... she worked for Gaga for 13 months, and is owed $380,000 in overtime.  O'Neill says in her suit her job included "ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower and serving as a personal alarm clock to keep [Gaga] on schedule."

O'Neill claims she had to cater to Gaga in "stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses."

And, O'Neill says, she was required to be at Gaga's beck and call at her "earliest waking hour."

O'Neill is suing for the $380k -- which represents 7,168 hours of overtime during the 13 months.

Gaga is not a defendant.  O'Neill is suing Mermaid Touring Company, which Gaga uses for concerts and what not.

Gaga's rep told the New York Post the suit is "completely without merit."

Ummm...that overtime constitutes almost 300 24-hour days. This is 'over time' my ass. This ass-sistant is a just a P.O.S. money-grubber. Gotta go with GaGa on this one. Sorry.

Not a big fan of GaGa myself but as a personal assistant, you're initialed to those sort of things. It looks like she just wants some fame and money for herself. Real stupid.

Lol, does anybody even THINK before reading/judging/posting? She is suing for basically 300 DAYS of "overtime" of the course of 395 days. I don't know how many hours a week she was scheduled to work, I am sure it was a lot if she was a personal assistant. But there's no mathematical POSSIBILITY to incur that amount of overtime. Even if she didn't sleep one hour in the 13 months.

that's what a personal assistant does, u r hired to attend to whoever u are working for and lady gaga is one of the biggest music stars out there right now so if she's busy u can be sure her assistant will be busy also...i think requesting a fresh towel after she showers is the smallest request that can be made...

despite the fact that Lady WTF is plastic industry trash, Jennifer O'Neill should have started her fight against slavery 13 months earlier, before selling her soul for $380k.

Should have investigated what the job was all about. If GaGa wants to hire me for a year I'll take it. I'm quite sure my wife won't mind.

7,168 hours over 13 months, that is an extra 19 hours per day. Good thing she was not hired to do accounting...

It's a personal assistant, not a slave. Standing in the bathroom waiting for that clown "Gaga" to get out of the shower so she can be HANDED a towel is degrading. People, is there ANY reason why that clown can't a towel OFF THE RACK or one that's sitting there waiting? She has to be HANDED one? For all her preaching about equality, she sure made that assistant less than her. Gaga needs to fade away. She's a joke.

there's only 8064 hours in a year, how could one possible have over 7000 hours of overtime?

Slaves do not get paid, perhaps the point of the assistant is not that her work was slavish, but that like a slave, she was not paid for it. The examples of the type of work performed is not stated to demonstrate that she had a lowly job, but to illustrate that she was on call 24-7 and deserves to be compensated for her time by the company that arranged her employment. If she was not paid for overtime, then she has a suit. People deserve to be paid for time put in, the amount of this pay is what you go to court to determine.
