Lady Gaga Lawsuit

Whiney Assistant Claims Gaga

Demanded Towel After Shower!

12/25/2011 7:08 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Lady GagaIn what reads like one of the biggest sour grapes lawsuits of the year, Lady Gaga's former assistant claims she was a slave to the singer, having to do such unconscionable things as fetching a towel for her after she showered, and keeping GG on schedule!

Jennifer O'Neill says in her lawsuit ... she worked for Gaga for 13 months, and is owed $380,000 in overtime.  O'Neill says in her suit her job included "ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower and serving as a personal alarm clock to keep [Gaga] on schedule."

O'Neill claims she had to cater to Gaga in "stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses."

And, O'Neill says, she was required to be at Gaga's beck and call at her "earliest waking hour."

O'Neill is suing for the $380k -- which represents 7,168 hours of overtime during the 13 months.

Gaga is not a defendant.  O'Neill is suing Mermaid Touring Company, which Gaga uses for concerts and what not.

Gaga's rep told the New York Post the suit is "completely without merit."

Another site mentioned that the assistant was paid 75K per year salary and the going rate for assistants is about 38K per year. Salary means.. no overtime. Boy don't I know that....

Math fail. 7168 hours into 13 months = 18.37 hours a day of overtime.

The math doesn't add up! 7168 hours of overtime is the equivalent of 299 days (24 hours in a day) So what she is saying is that in roughly 395 days (13 months), 299 of those days were overtime??? Wish I had a job like that!!!

The claims are most certainly being pled to show she was a non-exempt employee and is entitled to overtime.

It's unclear what the job agreements were, but considering her job was salaried and not hourly, I think she will have difficulty receiving "overtime". The assistant was paid a salary of $75,000 a year to follow Gaga around. I had a salary of $100 a week working at a school where I was also on call at any moment. Some weeks equaled less than minimum wage. That's kind of the downside of a salary, yaknow? Why even accept the job?

7,168 hours in 13 months? That's 18 hours of overtime PER DAY. Physically impossible, even in Gaga's world.
