Lindsay Lohan will ring in 2012 at a RAGING PARTY in Dubai -- so says an overseas party planning company ... but TMZ has learned Lohan claims it's totally full of crap and now she's threatening legal action.
Sources connected to Lohan tell us ... the actress was PISSED when she learned her name is being used to promote a massive NYE bash on the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise ship in Dubai ... because it's simply not true.
We're told Lindsay's legal team is pounding out a cease and desist letter -- claiming she's prepared to sue the pants off the party people if they continue to lie about Lohan's NYE plans.
Lohan's rep, Steve Honig, tells TMZ ... “Lindsay is not going to Dubai, nor had she ever considered doing so. She will be spending New Year's Eve in Los Angeles with a few close friends and family."
We called the party planners for comment -- so far, no response.

Wow, talk about a bad mascalculation, guess the company didn't realize that Lindsay isn't allowed to leave the country.
Nice attempt at making it sound like she's not interested in such a party/payday. We all know she'd be jumping at the chance if she was actually allowed to leave the country. I guess speedballs at home with the momster will just have to suffice this year!
I bet they had a deal but probation told her she couldn't go so now she is playing the "I was never involved in this".

I am hoping that Lindsay can continue to be strong after she's off probation. She's got everything to gain back, namely her career, and everything to lose, namely her career. Keep strong Lindsay.

She's right to be mad at that party planner. I saw their advert saying Lindsay would be among the guests. They do it all the time and its for publicity for their event. Blogs picked up on it and the douche planners got their publicity at Lindsays expense.
Lindsay said weeks ago she would be having a quiet NYE and she will. Why can't they leave her alone for once? now they are inventing places she'll be. She's doing her best and doing well. GO LINDSAY!!

This is just my humble opinion but I think it would have been wiser for her to have shown her face in LA, and not make a statement stating she was NOT going to Dubai. The reason for this is because 1.) if she had her face photographed in LA it would have helped stop rumors because she's hello in LA NOT on her way to Dubai. However there is no evidence so far to suggest that she is in LA right now, just her word that she is. 2.) The more that she outcries THIS IS A LIE! I'M GOING TO SUE! the worse this makes her out to be. she is already pegged as a sue happy woman, and this just plays more into that stature.
they say that silence is golden and a picture is worth a thousand words. She should have listened to those adages. instead, by using this tactic she has just caused more ire, and doubt among the people that she needs to worry about. even the people that are deemed haters can still be able to bring her back into a more favorable light if she should the kind of effort needed to truly turn her life around. right now all she is doing is complying to a court ordered mandate. While this is GOOD NEWS, and it truly is, it still shows the fact that if it wasn't for the courts, she would still be thumbing her nose at everyone else by continuing to act as she always has.
