'American Idol' Castoff

Stealing Ryan Seacrest's Identity

... For Money

1/20/2012 4:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Shaun Kraisman
"American Idol" reject Shaun Kraisman's pro singing career might be off the table -- but TMZ has learned, he already has a potentially lucrative back-up plan ... impersonating Ryan Seacrest for a living.

You probably recognize him -- he's the guy from Wednesday night's episode who's a dead ringer for the "Idol" host ... right down to the way he talks. It's scary.

Shaun didn't make it to Hollywood (his audition was ... less than stellar) ... but he's unfazed -- telling us, he got such a positive reaction from his Ryan Seacrest impression on Wednesday night's show, he has decided to pursue a career as a Seacrest impersonator.

Shaun tells us, he has already booked a gig with a local radio station to do his Ryan act -- and is currently reaching out to as many people as possible to get his new career off the ground ... friends, managers, agents.

His ultimate goal -- Shaun says he wants to host parties, shows, you name it ... all doing the Seacrest thing. Way to aim high.

He is not a dead ringer, there were times though he without a doubt sounded just like Ryan.

Not a dead ringer but close enough. I see a future for Shaun. Good luck!

So basically, he wanted to make money off of impersonating Seacrest, and he thought the best way he could do that was pretend to be interested in competing on Idol, so he could get a million dollars worth of free publicity. Well played Shaun.

And for his next impression he's going to pretend to be into Julianne Hough......Just like Ryan!

Didn't think he looked like Ryan at all. However I did think that bringing up the bit about the homeless girl living in the woods was very distasteful. You could have brought up the point about the prior arrest and left it at that, joking about rather she would use the bathroom and the items she had in her home/tent was unnessasary I wonder if any of you would like to trade places with her or if any of you would like to offer her a home in which to live in. Good job bashing homeless people no matter what their reasons, kudo's something to be proud of TMZ (NOT)

We don't even need the ONE seacrest, let alone an 'impersonator.

Got to love the way TMZ makes it's 'biz.' Shaun hasn't received any money, just a lot of publicity here in Charleston, SC. He has has Radio shows featuring him as a guest on their morning shows (no money), and the television stations covered the night Idol premiered.
I've known Shaun for over 15 years, and he's always done his hair that way, and sang, and wanted to be on TV. He's even worked for a local TV station around Charleston in the past.
Very clever idea to go as Seacrest, but he never imagined it would blow up into this, and especially TMZ portraying him as an impersonator, stealing identity!! LOL, good one tho!

RYAN, you are gay and theres nothing at all wrong with it, but what bothers me is that you are not man enough to admit it like LANCE bass did years ago. No need to date little midget chipmunk looking girls, go date some hot guys bro! Being gay these days is accepted and be yourself. I hate people who arent themselves. You are gay, you like penis so go for it! FREE RYAN!

With those rare features, that captivating and authentic "TV presenter" personality, a such a unique sense of style, who would have thought there'd be another person out there who looked and talked JUST like Ryan Seacrest?!

hey .. they could pay this "new ryan" only 100K for next season instead of 20M for the real one!

I think that TMZ has failed to bring us the worst and most discusting story on Steven Tyler and what he said about the 15 year old daughter of the world series major league pitcher. His comments felt as though steven tyler is a petephile.
