Anna Faris Hanging by a Thread Off MASSIVE Cliff

Anna Faris trusted some flimsy rope with her LIFE earlier this month -- rappelling down an incredibly scary cliff in Mexico ... with a laundry list of her famous buddies, including Michelle Williams.

Anna, Michelle, Anna's husband ("Parks and Recreation" star Chris Pratt) and the entire band Grizzly Bear all went on an 8-hour horseback ride ... then rappelled down a giant mountain ... as part of their Coyote Canyon Adventures trip.

Who knew Anna and Michelle did all their own stunts?

Lol. I've rappelled down that exact cliff; they take you there from nearby spas. It's a trick of the camera, it's really only about 10 feet off the ground but the background tricks the eye.

Matilda looks exactly like Heath.. It is unfortunate they named her such a horrid name.. Matilda? Really? That's as bad as "Frances Bean"... but she's adorable regardless.

Anna is much braver than I am - there is no way in hell I'd ever rock climb off that cliff.

Matilda riding a horse on that trail without a helmet is much more dangerous that rappelling with that rope. THAT's your story, TMZ.

That's cool to see them having good fun and enjoying their friendship and freetime in a postive way. Glad to see everyone looking happy and Matilda seems to already be much better than I am @ horse riding.
