"American Idol" judge Steven Tyler is finding himself on the other end of the criticism this afternoon ... he's being mercilessly attacked for his rendition of the National Anthem today.
Tyler, in a glittery New England Patriots scarf, sung "The Star Spangled Banner" before today's Raven/Patriots AFC Championship game.
Popular sports site Bleacher Report posted the video under the headline, "Watch Steven Tyler Butcher the National Anthem." Jason Whitlock, columnist for FOXsports.com, tweeted, "Steven Tyler far more obscene than Janet Jackson's t*tty."
To us, he sounded exactly like you'd expect Steven Tyler to. But we ask you ...

I sounds like Steven Tyler. The song just doesnt suit his voice. He has a unique voice that does great with the rock he has sang throughout his career but a song like the banner with parts that require high notes would of course not work well with his voice. He did good none the less.
He did just fine. Don't know what all the fuss is about.
Seeing that it's one of the hardest songs to sing in the world...I think he actually sang it like the rest of us do. ♥

Steven sang it like Steven. No disprespect from him in it. Like the article said, "It sounded like Steven." Not his type of song. But he gave it his all.
Its a very hard song to sing. I thought he sang it in typical Steve Tyler fashion.
Not the best, because he does not have the TYPE of voice for it. Rock and roll yes, but not this song. But he tried so good for him.
