Whitney's Family to Bobby Brown

Keep Your Mitts

Off Your Ex-Wife's Fortune!

2/16/2012 6:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Cissy Houston is aggressively trying to block Bobby Brown from getting close to 18-year-old Bobbi Kristina
Bobby Brown
is about to make a money grab by leeching onto his daughter, the sole heir to Whitney Houston's fortune -- at least that's what Whitney's mom and other family members believe.

Family sources tell TMZ ... Cissy Houston is aggressively trying to block Bobby from getting close to 18-year-old Bobbi Kristina, fearing it's just a ploy to line his pockets.

The family is convinced ... Bobby is broke, and he's making a play for his daughter's affection to latch on to what could be an estate worth around $20 million, and that figure could double by the end of this year.

As TMZ first reported ... Bobby tried to visit his daughter earlier this week, but the family shut him down.

We're told friends of the Houston family have already contacted Bobby and warned him he is persona non grata at Whitney's funeral and in Bobbi Kristina's life.

There's a lot of bad blood between Whitney's family and Bobby Brown, because they believe he was the driving negative force in her life that led her down the substance abuse path.  They also believe he's largely responsible for Bobbi Kristina's drug and alcohol struggles.

As for Bobby Brown ... people in his camp tell TMZ, he's well aware of the family's animosity toward him and wants to bury the hatchet for the sake of his daughter.

Someone with the caliber of Whitney Houston is worth $20 Millions.

& no-talent Kim Kardashian makes the same amount in one fake wedding day.

What the hell is this??? lol

I'm surprised she's only worth that much, she must have been a big spender. Either that or she had a really bad manager.
Her estate will be worth at least triple that by the end of the year if it's handled properly.

Dear God,
Thank you for the many, sundry and diverse cultural/societal differences you bestowed upon the various races of the man you created.
But those differences leave me wondering sometimes. Whitney's not quite cold and in the ground yet and her family is quibbling and arguing over what money she has left that they - the family - hasn't spent yet, and who can and can't attend her funeral.
Dear God, I just don't understand that, so bear with me,

PS: I guess if there is such a thing as karma in your plan, that means I will come back as one of them next time around?
But thank you for allowing them to put on a display of their cultural/societal traits arguing here on TMZ.
Helluva show, Big Guy.
amen again.
Amen and Amen

Of course they do, because reality has set in and it's like every other African-American celebrity that dies, it's all about the money now.

I think that they should have went to Whitneys apt. and went through her paperwork, and checked with her attorney to see if she had a will for her final wishes myself.

Bobby loves his daughter Bobbi Kristina. He was just with her and Whitney two weeks ago for dinner- and everything seemed hunky dory.

Whitney was completely broke at the time of her death and it is not believed that her estate will make that much money as the rights to her songs belong to others. She was not that great of a business person.

Bottom line, let the Bobbi Kristina, who just lost her mother, have access to her father who loves her very much. They can all duke it out after the funeral.

once a thug always a thug! i don't blame the family. but i do blame him as well for her demise. she was so sweet and innocent growing up in front of our eyes. go criticized by the black community for singing too white. so she changes her image and the people around her...what's up bobby? and her life was never the same. a tiger cannot change it's stripes and this guy in my opinion caused her demise. so sad! the concern is that their daughter will get all this money and with her leaning's toward drug's, might end up like her parent's someday as well. stay tuned. but keep this thug away from the family!

Bobby has a right to mourn his ex just like everybody else.
Her family is doing nothing but showing hate and disrespect for Whitney by bickering like dogs over a bone. Makes me sick.
They cheapen her passing in this manner.

I have been following this from the minute she passed away. From my understanding, her best friend, Jennifer ??, said Whitney had drug problems BEFORE getting with Bobby Brown. It escalated from there. So Bobby Brown cant be blamed for ALL Whitneys problems because she was doing it BEFORE she met n married him. He didnt help the situation by continuing to do the drugs when they married. You cant make a person do what they do not want to do. Its tragic and terrible that she passed away, as I grew up listening to her music. I thought she was a fantastic singer / actor.

I know she recently won a 100 million dollar law suit from her stepmom Barbara Brown, and she also owns the house Barbara Brown & Whitneys Dad was living in. Its reported Whitney was going to start eviction against her step-mom in the upcoming days prior to her death. Before Whitneys dad passed, he owed Whitney a great deal of money. So she took out a 100 million dollar life ins. policy on him. Her step-mom Barbara Brown has fought her for years over this money, and finally in recent weeks, Whitney was awarded the money and the property step-mom lives on.

Now all of this should go to Bobbi Kristina, maybe with Cissy as overseer of the money. I think B.K. is too young to handle that kind of money at 18-19.

I understand that you can watch the service on the internet. Anyone heard what website it will be on?

Of course the living want the money. Good thing she isn't around to see what the mourning has become. Let the man comfort his daughter and quit polluting her mind with money

I think if Bobbi Kristina wants her Dad there then he should be there. She is considered an adult now. And Whitney is HER mother, so she is next of kin, not Cissy.

Seriously, the family is focusing on money right now? This is almost as bad as the Grammy party that wasn't cancelled. Bobbi Kris is the heir and an adult. She should be making the decisions. She should decide who attends Saturday and will prob end up taking care of her dad later in life. It's the only parent she has.
