Whitney Houston

Laid to Rest

2/19/2012 10:10 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Pop legend Whitney Houston was buried today at Fairview Cemetery.

Pop legend Whitney Houston was buried today at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.

Houston was laid to rest next to her father, John Russell Houston, who died in 2003. The burial was a small "family only" affair and not the star-studded event that yesterday's moving funeral service was.

As TMZ first reported, Whitney's casket was heavily protected since the funeral yesterday ... with nearly 10 security guards working in shifts to keep it guarded.

Houston passed away back on February 11. A cause of death has yet to be determined.

How come nobody mentions Barbara Streisand. She's the true great voice for over 40 years and still doesn't skip a beat. Houston is no ledgend.

Houston will be remembered more for her drug and alcohol addiction, destroying her voice and her career, her od'ing, accidential or otherwise than her songs. Maybe that is a legened.

Not buried yet? For the people who are saying she was on drugs this and that...look i'm against illegal drugs, never did drugs in my life thank God,but the bottom line is most of the celebrities are taking illegal drugs,i did a lot of research about Elvis who was addicted to drugs legal & illegal, there was a lot of coverage about his death, arround the country people had an obsession for the man, people were not making negative comments about him!

This is just wrong. We got to see the service via TMZ yesterday, which was nice, but do you really have to invade the privacy of the family at the burial? It is a private, family only, burial for a reason and there you are with all your cameras. You should be ashamed of yourself, Harvey.

Helicopters flying above. If you're going to be upset about the amount of coverage, blame the media outlets. The family has done all they can to keep as much of this private. The media's providing the non-stop coverage in efforts to milk every nickle out of this story.

I don't think anything crazy will happen with her being buried here--and that's if she's really even there. I'm not one to believe every detail the media presents. The family could be burying her next to her father, or they could have already laid her to rest elsewhere in the middle of the night. Who knows?

Farewell Whitney Elizabeth Houston.

Uncle Tom

In the old days Walter Cronkite would have came on TV at 6:00 P.M. and said "singer Whitney Houston has passed" end of story ...

Every video TMZ puts up says R.I.P. Whitney. How can she actually do that with your cameras everywhere? Do you even know what R.I.P. means?

I highly doubt they let the people of Newark into this area of NJ for today's continuing drama. I'm sure the residents of Westfield are thrilled with the trash that will want to try to come visit her grave. There will be nothing but trouble.
