Dr. Conrad Murray

Denied Freedom

During Manslaughter Appeal

2/24/2012 5:20 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0224_murray_BN_01
Dr. Conrad Murray was just shot down by a judge, denying him bail while he appeals his manslaughter conviction in the death of Michael Jackson.

During today's hearing, Judge Michael Pastor found Murray is still a flight risk because he does not have significant property or family ties here in Los Angeles.

Judge Pastor also believes Murray is a danger to society -- citing the NBC documentary, in which Murray fails to show any remorse for MJ's death.

Pastor said "it scares me" that Murray believes it's okay to use Propofol in a home setting -- and insists he could pose a danger to the safety of other people if he were released.

Murray had previously filed a motion asking for bail so he could spend time with his family while he awaits the outcome of his appeal.

Murray is hoping to overturn his manslaughter conviction on grounds he never had a chance to prove Michael killed himself  due to stress ... among other reasons.

Murray's appellate attorney Valerie Wass says she believes Murray is a "scapegoat," who's being blamed for Michael's death because there's no one else to target.

What is the average size of a US prison cell?
Answer:
6 x 8 feet
So explain how you figure 5 x 8 is pure luxury???? Did they have you in one that was much smaller or what?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Most prisoners don't get a private cell. In fact, due to overcrowding, a vast majority have to live in a large room similar to an army barracks with many other prisoners. Murray has privacy and security and few opportunities to mingle with violent offenders.
As far as jail or prison is concerned, that's luxury.
I guess we have MiMi as another willing member of the mental midgets.
Oh bullcrap ButtnoBrains
Majority of prison cells are designed to only hold one or two prisoners. Maybe in larger state run facilities they are housed in large rooms due to overcrowding, but most local jails do not even have large facilities within them to house that many in one room.
Unless they put keep them all in the cafeteria. LoL
Thank you Judge Pastor for keeping this Sociopath where he rightfully belongs - behind bars! Murray has not shown one ounce of remorse for the death of his so-called friend or even acknowledged the fact that he his the one who killed him. It wasn't a mystery man, it was you Conrad Murray! The evidence was overwhelming at your trail. You do remember your trial right? Where expert after expert testified what a reckless quack you are! And where Doctor after Doctor expressed their utter shock that you even thought to do what you did! The Judges decision today was the correct one to make. You are a danger to society and should be locked up until your failed appeal is heard. And the icing on the cake is the fact that your medical license is gone! How you got one to begin with is beyound us.
So go back to you jail cell and wallow in your "whoa is me" misery. Let's face it, you did this yourself and have no one else to blame. Yes a very gifted, kind man is gone, but the victory in your imprisonment will make him live forever!
Calling someone "mental midget" and "duck" (whatever the heck that means) is so juvenile.
What I Think: less than a minute ago
Wacko Jacko's death was the greatest blessing ever bestowed on mankind so maybe Socrates had a point there.
What I Think: 3 hours ago
Use this jail time wisely, Dr. Murray, and start writing a book about you and Wacko Jacko. It is sure to be a bestseller and make a rich man out of you. I already have money set aside to buy my copy."
Please send your money directly to Murray, so we won't have to see that book ever emerge.
As for duilama: You are saying you are an evil idiot who enjoys getting on people's nerves. That's a sad statement. Only people who are afraid they can't be genuinely liked, would create so much dirt and unhappiness and thrive in it. I feel sorry for you.
Please try and change course on to something positive in your life. As it is now, no one is really talking to you here, because you pretend to be deaf and blind, and you make it impossible to have any sort of communication. You are scared and protecting yourself by being nasty.
Best of luck - and I mean it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That is the reality of overcrowding which is why Murray will most likely serve less than half of his sentence. Bunk beds are often put in cafeterias and every available space and cells designed for two often hold more. What you see in movies, is far from the norm, especially in CA.
Then again, you are and idiot, so I wouldn't expect you to comprehend much.

Go to Google or whatever search engine you can mash your your muffin-like hand on your keyboard to access and type in "California jail overcrowding" and pick a link, any link, or picture.

You accepted the title along with the intended recipient. I usually save the insults for after others start dishing them out. I could be much more harsh without being editted by TMZ's systems.
"Duck" or "duckie" is reserved for HumanNature who tends to type "QUACK!" every four or five grammatical errors.

Sheriff's office refutes report of imminent county jail overcrowding

-

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Overcrowding won't happen this year, even with a switch of state inmates to county jails, according to Sheriff Baca.

Los Angeles County jails now house 15,800 inmates, down from 16,000 the month before. An internal report from the L.A. County District Attorney's Office states the jails would be full as early as next month.

The sheriff's office says the report is based on old information. Overcrowding is not going to happen this year, even with a court-ordered switch of state prison inmates to county jails, a process known as realignment.

"This is a trickle-down effect," said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore. "They will be coming to us and in the meantime things will be done to where we can manage the jail system."

Whitmore says about 500 inmates are released from jail every day.

Roughly 800 inmates come into the jail every five days. The sheriff has estimated he would not expect overcrowding for a long time.

"Right now we have 3,500 vacant beds. We believe that it will be probably a question that should be answered in about a year and a half or two years from now," said Baca in an interview last week.

It is a big question for many in law enforcement. They fear that court-ordered early release of convicted state inmates will cause an increase in crime.

Instead of going to state prison, some inmates will go straight to county jails after sentencing.

Since October 1, the county has received 1,000 inmates from the state. But the overall jail population has decreased to historic lows.

Baca has plans to release non-violent inmates who haven't been sentenced yet and equip them with electronic monitors.

The sheriff's department and the ACLU are studying the best ways to safely release inmates from jail, especially those awaiting trial.

The jails remain under a court order to relieve overcrowding.
