Whitney Houston's Mom

'DEVASTATED' By Death Report

4/5/2012 5:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Cissy Houston and the late Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston
's mother is "devastated" and "inconsolable" over the L.A. County Coroner's Autopsy Report that makes it clear ... Whitney was deep into cocaine when she died.

Cissy Houston is telling close friends ... she cried hysterically when she first heard about the Coroner's findings -- that white powder (which we know tested positive for cocaine), a drug spoon and other trappings of drug use were found in the hotel room.

Cissy says her biggest fear is that people will now remember her daughter as a druggie, and not a talented singer and family woman.

Cissy singled out Whitney's performance of the National Anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl, saying, "This is the type of thing people should remember Whitney for."

Cissy added, "No one's perfect. Only the Lord can judge."

just saying

"No one's perfect. Only the Lord can judge." For someone so worried about how people will remember her daughter, she sure does an awful lot of judging and accusing of Bobby Brown!

Not everyone's perfect?? Not everyone is so spoiled and selfish as to destroy the gift that got her into the 1 percent.... Not a goody two shoes? You can't sugar coat a turd..... She was severly spoiled. I'd like to see how she would have made out in the 70's which required yearly album releases and touring.. These 80's cry babies don't know what work really is..... She could have taken all the breaks she wanted and she did... She just chose to not be humble or appreciate her gift by showing everyone how she can destroy it. That's permanent damage, not age.... Listen!!!!!!!!!

Mama Houston need not worry. There are a lot of people like me who know Whitney was a flawed child of God as we all are. My thoughts of Whitney will center on her music and not her flaws. RIP Whitney.

DENIAL!!!!!!!!! She is worried about what people think and that is the biggest problem here. All along she should of worried about what was best for her daughter and stopped being an enabler. If she learned anything from the death of her daughter she will help Bobbi K. With her track record we already know what will happen.

too shay

Whitney Houston wasn't the first celebrity to die from drug abuse, and she will hardly be the last. Elvis Presley's legacy is still going strong, despite how he died. What about Marilyn Monroe? Billie Holiday? The list of celebrity drug deaths is quite long.

she will be remembered for killing herself with drugs just like all the rest, and why shouldn't she not be?

The racists in the GOP (95% are) will only remember her as a "druggie" so don't even think about it, mom.

Whitney will always be remembered for being a brilliant, talented singer--she was amazing. But sadly, she will also be remembered for being a druggie. It is what it is.

Why the heck is she devastated?! She knew cocaine was found. Did she think Whitney just had it there to look at it?

Different Rules Apply

Time to move on. R.I.P. Whitney. May your addiction to drugs and subsequent demise of your singing voice, career and then ultimate death scream as a message to today's youth. This was so unnecessary. Peace to her family.

I think Whitney should be remembered both as a great singer and as a drug addict who died tragically as a result of her drug use. We have to stop glossing over the facts. Her drug use doesn't wipe out her fantastic voice but her voice doesn't wipe out the drug use, either.

What makes is angry is reading about the prescription drug use. Were they prescribed by doctors? At her autopsy her drug use was apparent. Was it not apparent during a physical exam at a doctor's office? Maybe some good can come from Whitney's untimely death if it helps to get a few more drug pushing doctors in jail where they belong. Whitney was responsible for her own choices but it sounds like she had lots of help along the way. :(

P.S. I've met a few true divas in the music industry and have personally known a couple too. None of them acted like Whitney. One checked out quietly (without causing a ruckus for everyone days prior).

Nice voice but this one does NOT deserve all this fanfare. Sorry.

Oh please. I've never been surrounded by the erratic behavior of a coke addict but do know sumpthin', sumpthin' just wasn't right with Whitney especially after seeing photos and videos the few days before her demise.

Did Whitney act this erratic since birth then? Only a Mother would know I guess.

Yes, remember her for the good but, especially in this case, we must use her as an example as well. Whitney herself - not the White man, not Bobby Brown - chose to expose her drug laced silliness throughout her career with the likes of Being Bobby Brown and other charades. It's all about $$$$ to get those drugs by any means necessary, right?

Though talented (yet connected), I was never a real fan of hers. I "cut her off" more than a decade ago.

I am not standing up for Bobby Brown in any way, but Cissy saying "No one's perfect. Only the Lord can judge" is kind of ironic, don't you think? She is forever bashing Bobby and judging him. And them blaming him is crazy, Whitney made her own choices. It's a sad deal played out in the media.

Just Karen

She was both - a drug user and very talented. So was Elvis, Michael Jackson, & Amy Winehouse and a lot of others. Just because she was talented doesn't mean she wasn't a drug user, and that goes for the rest of them. Unfortunately these people died from their demons. Hopefully other talented musicians, etc. that are on drugs (and I bet there are a ton of them), learn from these poor indivduals and not end up in the same way.
