'Caine's Arcade' Kid

The 4-Figure Pinball Surprise

4/12/2012 3:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Caine Monroy and his cardboard arcade
The cardboard-cutting days are over for that kid from the viral 'Caine's Arcade' video -- because TMZ has learned, he's finally getting a real-life arcade game ... worth upwards of $4,000.

In case you haven't seen the video (below) -- a 9-year-old kid named Caine Monroy built an entire arcade at his dad's L.A. auto shop last summer ... using nothing but cardboard left over from his dad's stockroom.

Nearly a million people have seen the video in the last two days -- including the owner of an L.A. pinball shop ... who then invited Caine to come check out her store ... and even meet a bunch of pro pinballers, including world champ Keith Elwin.

Sources tell TMZ, Caine showed up to the store last night -- a place called Pins and Needles, where he played on a real-life pinball machine for the first time in his life.

But the fun didn't end there -- we're told Caine made such a strong impression on the store's owner (above) ... she offered him one of several pinball machines ... ON THE HOUSE.

The vintage machines range in value -- starting around a couple hundred bucks -- but the mack daddy is the rare "Big Brave" machine (above left) ... worth an estimated $3,000.

Caine has yet to decide which non-cardboard machine to take home.

This was such a cute story...why am I crying?! I love that the guy went out of his way to help Caine get customers. And kudos to Caine's dad for encouraging his son to express his creativity!

Who wants to bet the a-holes from the city will fine his father for not having the proper permits and shut this thing down. Gotta love Los Angeles. Way to go Cain!

Uh oh i am screwed

This brought tears to my eyes. In the days of video game and tv coma it is awesome to see such an incredible young man using his imagination!!!!

When my sons (now moody teenagers) were little they loved nothing more than cardboard boxes. We made trains, castles and all sorts of things with them. They would play for hours and i miss those days.

Good job to Caine's father for allowing him to get creative and use the shop like that <3

I love the story and I love Caine even more. This is very cool all around. One thing however. Can we get past trying to get WOW value out of these stories? I've been collecting pinball machines for over 20 years. If the Big Brave machine in the photo is the one they are referring to being worth $3000.00, they're seriously mistaken. I can see major issues with the cosmetic condition of that machine and it's simply not worth close to $3000.00.

I think Caine is an awesome kid and I think it's wonderful that the store owner gave him a machine. It's a real feel good story and it restores my faith in our youth and in humanity as well. But can we get past the whole American Pickers/Pawn Stars/reality TV (which is anything but reality) mentality and tell the truth in these stories.

Best of luck to Cain and his dad. They are great!

While the pinball arcade game is a nice gesture, I don't think it's what a creative kid like Caine needs...It's like saying, "Nice try, kid...Here's a real one for ya"...Caine just needs more cardboard, and lots of tape!
