President Barack Obama has released a statement on the passing of Dick Clark ... praising the entertainment mogul as an innovator who "reshaped the television landscape forever."

"With `American Bandstand,' he introduced decades' worth of viewers to the music of our time," Obama said.

He added, "[Clark] reshaped the television landscape forever as a creative and innovative producer and, of course, for 40 years, we welcomed him into our homes to ring in the New Year."

"But more important than his groundbreaking achievements was the way he made us feel -- as young and vibrant and optimistic as he was."

"As we say a final `so long' to Dick Clark, America's oldest teenager, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends -- which number far more than he knew."

What kind of blind fool could possibly vote for this idiot again in 2012? Wow.

If this would have happened a few days after Obama got elected, this board would be all pro Obama. Now, we see him for what he really is......a nice man who can speak well but has NO CLUE what he's doing. And it's showing in the comments section of just about all websites now. Only the true blue Obots are still singing his praises. The rest have woken up and see him for what he really is now. Good riddance to him this year. RIP Dick Clark. You were an amazing man.....but honestly, he kinda bummed me out these last few years seeing him on NYRE. It was just sad to see him paraded on TV for pageantry when he should have been retired.

Isn't this about Dick Clark, not Obama. As I was growing up, every week I wouldn't miss American Bandstand. Thank you Dick Clark for those happy memories.....

We don't need the President to release a statement on the passing of a celebrity. Best he goes back to his desk and get to work.

Dick Clark wasn't just a celebrity he was an icon. Any sitting president would have commented on his passing.

Many politicians of both sides of the aisle have released statements about Dick Clarks death. If your gonna be mad at Obama for taking the time to say something, then you should be mad at all of them.
