'Chopped' Winner

My Landlord's Secretly

Looting My House!

4/27/2012 4:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0426-penny-davidi-foodnetwork
Chef Penny Davidi -- who recently won a round of "Chopped All Stars" on the Food Network -- claims hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of household items have been secretly stolen from her home ... and the culprit is none other than her landlord.

Penny's lawyer -- the legal wrecking ball Donald Karpel -- just filed legal docs in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming Penny moved into the fancy Beverly Hills mansion last June ... and her landlord promised the place would be pre-furnished with valuable knick knacks and antiques.

Penny says she even inspected the house before signing the lease in May -- and it was filled with multiple paintings, fancy furniture, rugs, a piano, and much more.

But when she finally moved in -- Penny claims many of the valuable items had been removed, and then continued to disappear while she and her husband lived in the house. According to Penny, her landlord's to blame.

Penny also says the landlord refused to let her exercise an option to purchase the home for a fixed multimillion dollar price -- including the pre-furnished items -- and instead, threatened to kick her out.

Penny and her husband are suing for breach of contract, defamation, extortion, and a laundry list of other stuff -- demanding unspecified damages. Penny also wants the landlord to sell her the house per their previous agreement. Calls to the landlord were not returned.

ROFLMAO...TMZ, I knew you were on the "REALITY" bandwagon where everything is scripted, but this, after the Kraptashions, the Jerseyheffers, the BABYMAMAS oh wait, Teen moms and all these other reality shows have come to fruition and you've jumped on the bandwagon trying to claim all this and more is "REAL". Dude, I'm a long time Wrestling Fan, I knew back in the late 80;s that wrestling was a scripted show, you don't think I see through this thin veil, twenty some odd years later? LOLOL

Should have installed hidden cameras in your rental catching the thief in action. If C.A is one party state?

Penny, those fancy items that came with the house were props to make the house more appealing to the buyer. The Landlord is not stupid or damn; he would not give variable items and antiques to perfect strangers when he could easily sell the items on E-bay or at an Auction house. Obviously the Landlord is deceitful, but why do you insist on buying his property after all? Do you have a screw ball missing? To most people, deceit is a deal breaker.

Holy f*ck she's wiping the landlord out! Those items are not hers, the house is not hers. The landlord is not sneaking in to steal back his or her own things -- she's f*cking stealing them out from under the landlord's nose.

Penny was absolutely the most evil, horrible, contestant on Food Network Star. She apparently could cook because the judges always liked her food but it is doubtful to me that she could have ever become a "star". Her personality is just too evil.

The items and the house belongs to the landlord, not the tenant! Other than not giving prior notice of intent to enter, the landlord has every right to protect or remove property from the rental home. Furthermore, even though the tenant has the option to purchase, it is merely an option, not an absolute right. This woman and her husband have a screw loose and their attorney is reaping the monetary rewards for their foolishness. If I was the landlord, I'd evict them pronto!

How do you sue someone to make them sell you 'their' house? And how do you suffer losses if none of the stuff actually belongs to you? Breach of contract ..ok. Everything else... totally ridiculous. I hope she loses and has to pay his court fees. You are just a tenant honey..nothing more. AND she was a huge bitch on the two cooking shows she was in.

Penny "Pit Viper" Davidi had to be the most loathsome, vicious person ever on Food Network. I'm sure she is just as pushy and obnoxious in "real life." Don't believe this story for a second. Unless she has a signed-by-both parties "option to buy" she's outta luck. As for the furnishings used to "stage" the property...give me a break. You're not entitled to them anymore than I'm gonna get all the dishes, flowers, napkins at Macy's that are on top of the dining room table I bought.

Penny Davidi only made it to the finals because the judges wanted to put a woman through to the finals. Her steak was horribly over-cooked and her filo dough in the dessert round was dried to dust. On top of that she was mouthy with one of the judges. There was absolutely no way she have been allowed to go to the finals.

When asked why she was competing she replied to "Take down anoyhrt chef. NOT anything about her charity. She also spent her camera time telling all of us why she should be on Foodnetwor as a chef, till nothing aboput her charity. She is a very unlikeable personal;ity, still as self centered as ever and a legend in her own mind. Who would want to watch her on Food TV ???!!!!!
