Mena Suvari

I'm Calling a TRUCE

in My Divorce

5/19/2012 5:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0518_mena_suvari_getty
Mena Suvari's divorce war is over ... the actress has reached a settlement with her ex ... and she won't have to spend one dime on the guy ever again.

TMZ broke the story ... Mena's husband Simone Sestito was demanding $17k per month in spousal support ... claiming Mena makes a FORTUNE and he got used to living the good life.

But Mena's rep tells TMZ the two talked things out in private and were able to bury the hatchet -- "They have amicably resolved their financial differences outside of Mediation and Court."

The rep says, "Neither party will pay the other any support."

We're told the two remain friends ... and wish each other future success.

I'd like to see a woman that married a fairly rich celebrity "bury the hatchet" and decide not to take his money in the divorce. LOL. That would never happen.

Why is it so few divorces (at least among celebrities) end amicably and the finances/property settlements get done without a dozen lawyers involved? I don't know Mena or he ex, but I commend them for the way they've done this. Maybe they should publish a little booklet on how it can be done without gun shots being fired.

Once upon a time, in a wonderful land called America, men had balls. Big balls. And they were the sole proud custodians.
Then came Sally Jessy Raphael, Oprah, Ricky Lake. Dr Ruth etc.
Men wanting just a taste of Tang and a few minutes silence caved in to whining.
To sad to continue...

A woman would fight tooth and nail for every dime of spousal support. And people will say, "Girl, take all you can. You earned it" BS. But, everybody gives a guy flak for trying to get spousal support. I hate double standards. If he didn't get a huge upfront lump sum, then she screwed him and probably laughing her ass off about it, too. But, I take it that she did pay him off or they wouldn't have reached a settlement.

How does she make a "fortune"? She hasn't been relevant for years! She is only ever seen at the front row of fashion shows and at club events...what does this woman do? They both should get a job

She probably agreed to pay his debts and he agreed to deal with his shiot on his own from now on since she's given him a clean slate. If not and she actually got rid of this deadweight for nothing, good for Mena.

Burying a hatchet represents her most meaningful work in years

LOL, they both agreed neither will get spousal support. Meaning one, he's gotten a very large lump settlement, you don't ask for 17k a month then agree to nothing. Meaning Two, she's got some damaging info on him and has threatened to use it. Meaning Three, TMZ doesn't have the whole story.

In other news, many thanks to Robert Kennedy Jr., for reminding us the rich benefit from Secret Dockets..

For a minute there, I'd forgotten.

Of course the man gets nothing. This system sucks! For u guys out there with considerable wealth, you're an idiot if u dont have an iron clad prenup and u get what u deserve. Beware of the V.

She's gotten old looking. I hope the EX gets half, it's nice to see that a man can be supported by a woman for once.
