Jerry Sandusky
was found guilty tonight of child molestation, and will almost certainly spend the rest of his life in prison.

The former Penn State assistant football coach was found guilty of 45 of the 48 counts involving 10 boys over a 15 year period.

The jury reached the verdict after deliberating a little more than 20 hours.  The judge didn't want to wait until Monday so he had the verdict read at 10 PM ET.

68-year-old Sandusky showed little emotion as the verdicts were read.

He was sent immediately to county jail, where he will await formal sentencing, probably in about 3 months.

8 victims took the stand to testify against Sandusky -- often in graphic detail -- describing how the former PSU coach abused them, from inappropriate touching and group showering, to forced oral and anal sex. Other witnesses described accounts pertaining to the remaining two victims.

Sandusky did not take the stand in his own defense.

Sandusky's lawyers insinuated the witnesses were financially motivated -- but the defense fell flat.

Sandusky met many of the children he abused through his Second Mile children's charity ... which Sandusky claimed he founded to help underprivileged boys.

PSU football coaching icon Joe Paterno was fired after the scandal for not taking enough action following a 2001 report that Sandusky had molested a child in the PSU showers. Paterno died shortly after from lung cancer.

The only news that would make this day more perfect is if that pathetic s*** felt one shred of remorse.

Good! May he rot!

I wish that all the other adults that failed those victims were also sent to prison. Anyone who had any ANY knowledge of any of those young boys being sexually abused and who did not go to the authorities to stop it, those people need to be held responsible too, for they participated in allowing it to happen and to continue to happen. Had someone contacted the authorities when they saw him raping or molesting those boys, it could have saved some of them from being sexually abused.

So those adults too should rot and be held accountable.

I hope there is a special place in hell for the sick individuals who expose themselves in front of a young child, who masturbate in front of a young child, who sexually abuse, molest or rape a young child. Be it family members, teachers, coaches, parents, uncles, and anyone in the family who tries to silence a victim and re-victimize them, should also rot! Anyone who tries to minimize the sexual abuse of a victim, anyone who tries to tell them it is in the past, get over it, anyone who will not believe a victim, or makes fun of, or tries to keep them in a corner of silence, they too, should rot!

It all is wrong, hurtful, and forever an emotional struggle, the PTSD, the re-living it, every time a victim hears of another case where someone was molested, it resurfaces, causes a victim to re-live what they went through.

Anyone who ever has a part in the sexual abuse, molestation, exposing themselves, masturbating in front of a child, all should ROT!

It's so rare when the justice system now days gets it right, now justice will be served in a way the public has no real stomach for but jailhouse rules for these types of crimes are swift and could not be imposed upon a more deserving man.

You can bet that if Penn State had a losing football team, that Sandusky creep would have been outed a long time ago. I think that their football program should be eliminated and those other idiots who witnessed those rapes - and he had to call his daddy because he didn't know what to do? - should come under some form of indictment .

Good, it should have happened 30 years ago, not allowing him to enjoy so much of his life. As it is, he might do 10 years before he dies.

This man's vile deeds set into action a ripple effect that has ultimately ruined the lives of so many people - from his victims to his family to those that witnessed and/or heard about and covered up his crimes...this is seriously just a tragic story on so many levels.

its really sad that if the people he worked with had done something about it years ago, he would not have had the opportunity to harm as many children for so long. in my opinion (not worth anything) they should be charged as accessory to the crime. they had the ability to stop, his sick actions.
