Bad Ass Congressman

Attacks AZ Law

... Using Justin Bieber

This. Is. AWESOME.

Justin Bieber, Jeremy Lin and Geraldo Rivera were thrust right into the center of the controversy surrounding Arizona's "Show Me Your Papers" law ... courtesy of one pissed off congressman.

Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) took the floor of the House of Representatives yesterday and played a game called, "Pick Out the Immigrant" ... in an effort to prove it's impossible for law enforcement to determine someone's citizenship based on their appearance.

Gutierrez -- clearly fired up about the recent Supreme Court ruling backing parts of the SMYP law -- explained, "In Arizona today, all that stands between you and a legal nightmare is whether a police officer feels there is a reasonable suspicion to inquire about your country of origin. Yet, Arizona politicians will tell you with a straight face no less, that they can apply this law without using racial profiling."

To prove them wrong, Gutierrez showed several pictures featuring two famous people and challenged congress to "Pick Out the Immigrant."

Gutierrez concluded, "The point is simple ... the idea that any government official can determine who belongs in America and who doesn't simply by looking at them is completely ridiculous, unfair and un-American ... and yet this absurdity is the law of Arizona."

What is "UnAmerican" is to clip across our boarders and collect welfare, social security, food stamps, section 8 housing and medicaid. If you are an American, you should NOT be offended to prove it, just like you do at the bank when you take out a loan or even just open an account or when you apply for a drivers license.

So tired of everyone bashing this issue! How many times a day do us legal citizens have to show their ID??? ALL THE TIME! Every purchase we make, any healthcare appointment, when we get pulled over...etc. We have to prove we are who we say we are, why not the ones milking our hard earned money with no accountability?

Agree or not with the law, we need something like it. There are millions of illegal immigrants in the US taking up resources, taking jobs, committing crimes, and not paying taxes. Something has to be done, with this law the police can somewhat monitor the streets. Do you have any idea, how many illegal immigrants are driving without a driver’s license? The answer is all of them! What happens to you when if you are caught driving without a drivers license? Illegal immigrants are working, and not paying taxes, or paying in to social security. What would happen to you if you were caught not paying taxes? This might not be the best way to fight the millions of illegals in the country but it’s a start. A lot of people think American’s are harsh on illegal immigrants, but compared to the reverse we are not. Try to go in to Mexico and open a store or get a job, good luck it isn’t happening. It is not that hard to get in to the United States legally, let them go that route instead of jumping the fence or getting in by boat in the middle of the night.

That was a good point, using J. Beiber. However, being a third generation born and bred American and proud of it, if I were ever stopped and asked to prove my citizenship not only would I do so but I would recite the Pledge of Allegiance and sing God Bless America while they checked my I.D.

AZ's immigration law was not totally struck down it was mostly but not all. First of all the police if they stop you they can ask you about your immigration status, now I would explain it here but its better you read it yourself especially if you are an immigrant

The problem is not skin color the problem is 11 MILLION ILLEGAL MEXICANS and a drain on the school, health and criminal justice systems. ILLEGALS are not just as entitled to jobs as American Citizens

Make it easier, instead of picking and choosing whom you check, just make it mandatory for all stops. No matter what your last name, skin color, age, etc, you must show your ID and have a check done. IN ALL STATES!!! Then there is no racial profiling and we still get people that are here illegally arrested.

Oh yeah and by the way, why not go and try to cross the border to another country illegally and see what awaits you. Surely not free food, housing, clothing, education, medical care for your spawn, and everything I have to work for here in the good old U.S.of A. Get in line and come to the borders like my family did, as approved immigrants who were willing to work like slaves to become American citizens.

What's a nightmare is Jerry Brown providing scholarships to ILLEGAL ALIENS. California is bankrupt, and we're giving money to people who are here illegally. Or a CO college charging illegal aliens who live in CO LESS than "out of state" students.

Are we fu king losing our minds?
