Gov. Chris Christie

Fightin' Words

On the Jersey Shore

7/6/2012 10:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0_2yjedc81_0_7ipzit1lThings got downright HOSTILE on the Jersey Shore last night -- with NJ Governor Chris Christie getting into a heated verbal altercation right on the boardwalk ... and it was all caught on tape.

Gov. Christie (R-NJ) was hangin' with his family in Seaside Heights ... and had just ordered an ice cream cone when a passerby fired off some snide comments about Christie's policy on education.

Christie got PISSED -- and while clutching his cone, shouted back at the guy, "You're a real big shot ... you're a real big shot shootin' your mouth off."

The man shouted back, "Nah, just take care of the teachers!"

The comment only inflamed Christie ... who aggressively marched towards the guy and warned, "Keep walkin' away ... really good ... keep walkin'."

Soon after, someone in Christie's party put his arm around the 49-year-old and escorted him in the other direction.

FYI -- Christie, one of the prime contenders for the Republican Vice Presidential nomination, has recently signed legislation expanding public funding for charter schools ... a decision that has infuriated some who would prefer the money go towards struggling public schools.

Christie's temper has been making headlines after he called a reporter "stupid" and an "idiot" on Saturday for asking off-topic questions at a news conference.

Christie's camp had no comment on the story.

He's not U.S. Vice-Presidential material, he's U.S. Presidential material. He might even be a good Secretary of State.

Nj Resident

He's a horrible governor I couldn't imagine what he would do as a VP. He recently signed a law making it impossible for college instructors to teach online, if the school is out of state. Totally controlled by the mob.

Christie is sensitive about the charter schools. He is trying to convince everyone they are a good thing when in reality, they are taking the place of real public schools and causing teachers to lose jobs.

The charter schools are just private schools paid for with public funds, usually put in an urban inner city areas, and sometimes with a Islamic bent. They are for profit organizaitons that siphon off money that would normally go to fund the public schools.

NJ public schools are renowned nationally and the system is one of the best in the country. Some of the cities where the charter schools are going also have some of the top ranked schools in the state. Just because there are some special ed schools and schools where kids aren't so interested in learning, the schools are being shut down due to lack of prerformance and being replaced with these autonomous private schools.

This is a huge debacle, it makes no sense, the people in the areas they are going don't want them, the teachers are being hounded by Christie left and right all over the state, and so he throws his little fits at people who disagree with him.

He is in the state paper constantly for mouthing off and calling other statesmen and constituents names. He calls people things like numbnuts and says things like something is going down tonight and it ain't gonna be jobs sweetheart, and why don't you take a bat to her, in reference to how an elderly woman was dealt with by the press. He is a boor.

I thought maybe he was fighting with the Jersey Shore cast who are also in Seaside now filming.

More people need to stand up to this guy. But those of us who've had to put up with this toad in the Governor's mansion for the past few years are used to it by now. He sets up these "community meetings", let's someone get up and then films himself for berating them - without giving them any opportunity to respond - and then has them ushered out by his cops.

I can't wait til his term is over. I hate this man's politics.

He's just a hood in office, same mentality and no doubt connected to some underground mob network, since he does look the part.

He is the epitome of a bully. He lacks refinement and basic good manners. This ugly American is not qualified to occupy national public office. Let him stay in Jersey. He is a pig.
