0722_holmes_abc_stillA video of Colorado shooting suspect James Holmes, shot when he was 18, shows the slightly awkward teen speaking to a room full of people at a science camp.

The video, obtained by ABC News, shows Holmes at Miramar College in San Diego ... discussing "temporal illusions."

Holmes was introduced at the seminar like this ... "His goals are to become a researcher and to make scientific discoveries. In personal life, he enjoys playing soccer and strategy games and his dream is to own a slurpee machine."

In the Match.com profile of Holmes TMZ posted this morning, soccer was listed among his interests.

This is actually upsetting. He seems like a normal person in this video, you never would have guessed what was to come. This only proves to me that he isn't insane, just pure evil.
My heart goes out to those poor families.
Stop giving this utterly disgusting supposed "human being" publicity.

Bird**** (good name btw) they are trying to show that on the outside he looks just like everyone else but on the inside is the problem. Just like serial killers they could be the nicest people in the world on the outside. THATS what makes them SO DANGEROUS

As saddened as I am for the victims, I also feel for this guy, he obviously had a life goal that didn´t include becoming a mass murderer. If infact he had a mental disorder it is frightening that no one ever diagnosed him. 1

So with all of his knowledge and desire to become a researcher, he only wanted a Slurpee machine out of life. I guess that is why he joined up with Occupy Wall Street people. He probably didn't agree intellectually with the money making bent of most science positions, so maybe that is why he had a hard time finding work in his field. If he felt alientated at all, it might be easy for an anarchist inflitrator to talk him up into doing something radical against the establishment. Then again, he lists himself as agnostic which often is a cover for being into black magic and luciferianism. Maybe someone got him involved in that aspect of chaos. They usually do it by saying that evil is just a concept and not really a force and make it seem like a big joke. He seemed to be making a joke of his actions by calling himself The Joker and dying his hair bright red.

I don't think that he acted alone because a witness saw someone open the door to the movie theater right before he came in in full gear and with assault weapons. I think he must have been trying to impress someone since he seemed to have been reaching out at match.com for a girlfriend. Maybe he just wanted more friends than he could easily come up with.

Anarchists are often very intelligent and articulate and nonjudgemental to a point, so maybe he got drawn in with their group and someone there talked him into doing something extreme, maybe even for ulterior motives.

Please TMZ, quit giving this evil individual publicity. Have some respect for those who lost their lives and pray for them and the survivors who will live with this horrific tragedy the rest of their lives.

All these negative comments against tmz Wake up people !! I doubt anybody at tmz likes this guy or the horrible things he did.. there putting him up to try and understand the man and why maybe people like him do this bull**** by seeing if there's any signs by the way he used to act or acted .. obviously not paying attention to unstable people hasint worked or even may have exacerbated the problem....

Lmao

I really don't know why people are so mad that tmz is posting stories about this guy. This an important incident in American crime history. The Zodiac Killer, Son of Sam, Ed Gein, Albert Fish, the Columbine duo-it's not about "making them famous" it's about exposing the truth behind the matter. Why do you think they've kept Charles Manson alive for so long? It's because the mind of killers is of actual value to many forms of research. I know this is "too real" compared to the debacles of the Lohans and Kardashians but that doesn't mean that Tmz has absolutely no right to post stories about new developments.

Although they are giving the wrong man media attention if you just do a tiny bit of research on the two major points he said, you can get a pretty clear sense of what he was trying to do, that he was intelligent enough to acquire the mental tools needed for the mental-psychos' experience he put himself through and that to an extent achieve his own diluted, twisted, sick goals. And my heart goes out to all the unfortunate people who lost there lives. in what was a senseless act of violence. Because as most people read and reply think his 'joker' impression or whatever was a joke, if you read about the two things he mentions it makes it clear he was in his own subjective reality' in which he was the joker and as you know the joker only causes chaos for chaos' sake which in turn James emulated during through subjective character experience.

There's so much we don't know about how the brain works (he maybe could have figured some things out if he didn't go nuts). Schizophrenia usually hits people in their early twenties, just as they reach their prime. Not trying to justify this guy or his actions, but who knows what happened in his brain to go from that guy in the video to mass murderer. If all shy awkward people lost it and killed people there would be nobody left.
