PR Honcho Dies

of Heart Attack

7/27/2012 11:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

A key member of the Chick-fil-A public relations department died of a heart attack this morning ... this in the middle of the biggest PR crisis the fast food chain has ever faced.

Chick-fil-A released a statement saying, "We are saddened to report the news to you that our dear friend Don Perry, vice president of public relations, passed away suddenly this morning."

As Chick-fil-A came under fire for its stance against gay marriage ... Perry spoke on behalf of the restaurant chain in an effort to smooth things over with the public ... promising to "leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.”

Chick-fil-A added, "Don was a member of our Chick-fil-A family for nearly 29 years.  He was a well-respected and well-liked media executive in the Atlanta and University of Georgia communities, and we will all miss him."

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."

This is your doing. I hope somewhere in you people there is a smidgeon of humanity that feels the guilt for this. For those of you who haven't taken the time to read the original interview with Cathy that started all of this, here it is. Note there is absolutely no mention of homosexuality at all.

Liberals are tolerant only as long as you agree with them.

DEATHBYMUSIC is trolling every post that calls out the bullying that is happening. Save yourself time and skip over the posts.

This ridiculous debate has run its course. We have had a massive shooting in Colorado, are in the midst of election year, cities are going bankrupt, unemployment is through the roof, and we want to continue to debate the beliefs of a privately held company. He's not preparing 5 gallons of Kool-Aid and leading followers to a bunker. He is using his first amendment rights to state his beliefs. You don't like it, don't eat there. Agree with him or not, you have to respect the man for standing by his morals.

The end of a life is the end of a life and grief is grief. I think it appropriate to honor Mr Perry for having done the work he did. I have been ardently opposed to Chick Fil A, but Mr Perry cannot be held solely accountable for ownership's decision to sway the business model into the political arena. Mr Perry had whatever beliefs he had. A human life has ended here, and we all need to reflect on our own responsibilities to Humanity, including Mr Perry's family, and his co workers. Show a bit of decency and some respect.

Last I heard its called, Freedom of Speech. We ALL have a right to our own opinion and I'm sick and tired of people trying to push their views on everyone else. I Love Chick Fil A and so does everyone else that I know. My best friend is gay and guess what?! He eats there, too. Get over it people! Everyone has a right to their own views!!!

The only bully I see are the people that say you have no right to your opinion. You say you don't support the gay lifestyle or marriage and gays stick a fork in you. Not everyone has to like your ways. They didn't say you cannot eat at our establishment or you cannot be hired. Get over it. Its a lot of whining for no reason. You want people to accept you and if you don't like that they don't you bully them into it. I don't like pink much, will people bully me into like it? There are more important things going on in the world and everyone wants to be blindsided by pro-gay everything. Its overshadowed the economy and you name it.

Selebraties Suck

The ones who cry "intolerance" are the biggest intolerant people in the world. Not everyone agrees with homosexual marriage.

Get Over It. Plus, I think more people will go to Chick-fil-a than ever before.

Rogue Warrior

Harvey has no room calling anyone a "hypocrite". He runs a website that thrives on exposing those who may be gay and want to keep it to themselves while at the same time calling out everyone who doesn't scream, "gay rights". What a tool!!!!!!!!!!!

All you people on here who previously had been preaching "tolerance" and equality now rejoicing over the death of an absolute stranger, someone who only got in the middle of this because it was his job to be the company spokesman. AND THE ONLY FREAKIN' THING HE SAID WAS THAT CHICK-FIL-A WOULDN'T TALK ABOUT IT ANYMORE. It was the company CEO who expressed his personal opinion, he never stated it was a company philosophy. The company never ONCE discriminated or refused to serve a person with a lifestyle he personally objected to. If you people are going to preach tolerance, it has to be across the board. You can't pick and choose, Freakin' hypocrites.
