Montee Ball Investigation

Madison Police Dept.

CAUGHT IN A LIE

8/4/2012 3:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0802_montee_hall_article_APThe Madison Police Department straight up LIED to the media about its investigation into the Montee Ball attack ... and tried to throw TMZ under the bus ... but their plan has backfired ... big time.

TMZ broke the story ... the Madison Police Department HAD launched an investigation into tips that Ball and several of his UW football teammates beat up a man at a party on July 27 ... several days before Ball was attacked on campus. Cops told the media that the TMZ report was not true.

They lied.

After cops made their false statement, TMZ broke another story -- cops had interviewed the person who claimed he was brutally injured by Ball and others on July 27... and wanted to know if the alleged victim had ordered a retaliatory strike on Ball.

Today, cops released a NEW statement .... finally admitting what we had already told you -- that investigators were indeed looking into the July 27 event.

Cops have now said ... "Through information developed by detectives, [The Madison PD has] determined that there was a fight that occurred Friday night which involved UW students, members of the UW football team, and other individuals that were not affiliated with the University of Wisconsin's Athletics Department."

The statement continues, "We have also determined that Montee Ball was present at the location of that fight, but we have no information that leads us to believe that he had any involvement in that particular event."

We called the MPD for comment -- for some reason, they don't want to talk to us.

Cops lie all the time, I had a case thrown out because the cop lied about evidence found. Not hearsay, I was there and heard him.

Maybe it is just a matter of words?

Story "They launched an investigation into the fight and also inquired if a retalitory strike had been ordered."

One lone Officer "WhooWhee boy! You got the snot kicked out of you, huh? You didn't happen to take a kick to the nads or something by that Bell or Ball guy did you? Oh? You were unconsciuos most of the fight? Ok, so...you wouldn't be looking to c0rnh0le him with a tire iron for some payback then, would ya? Ok, good enough. Catch some zeeee's there buddy, I'm outta here...might just be able to catch the tail end of happy hour ay Chuckee Cheese!"

And so ends our investigation.

The US Supreme Court has upheld police lying to suspects and crappy gossip sites. They don't have tell you their investigation, and they can mislead the media. The media often works with police to plant stories to smoke suspects out, like in the BTK serial killer case.

Why was Montee Ball singled out for a retaliatory beatdown, I only asking because the story doesn't make sense all around. And, once again, the junior-high-level TMZ'rs are given free reign at the site over the wknd. 'Bigtime'? grow up, DUDES.

It's one thing for TMZ to make up shyte until they have to apologize - hello Janet Jackson, but I guess honest to God police departments have to wait for things like Grand Juries, and police investigations to be completed.
.
Really TMZ, do you think Police Departments actuallty have time for the likes of you?

Another day of tainted football - this time it was another player "not me" and then the police lie also.

What is it about college football? Is this the meaning of life?

I think Woodward and Bernstein used "Bigtime" in their story when they caught Nixon in his lies.
