Bobby Brown
is currently undergoing rehab for alcohol addiction, TMZ has learned.

Sources extremely close to Brown tell TMZ, the former "New Edition" singer admitted himself to the treatment facility very recently -- because “he realized he couldn’t do it on his own.”

We're told he's being treated for alcohol abuse issues -- a problem Brown has openly suffered from for many years.

The source adds, Brown “decided that he needed help and wants to make the best out of the rest of his life for his children's sake."

Brown was arrested for DUI in March -- a month after his ex Whitney Houston died.

He will eventually go the way of Whitney as rehab does not work for him!! I suggest Bobbi will as well have problems because of her terrible parentage!!

Not a big fan of BB, but no hatin' here. If the guy is wanting to get treatment for a serious problem/addiction, more power to him and I wish him the best. Everyone has the right to turn their life around, no matter the age or cir***stances surrounding them.

Nice place to dry out. Whether he wants to actually change his lifestyle, and drinking IS a lifestyle, remains to be seen. I wish him luck.

As long as they don't suggest he join AA. AA substitutes a Jesus addiction for alcohol. Were it me...I'd choose the alcohol.

I wish him nothing but the best. People need to realize alcohol is a drug /addiction. If anyone gives rehab a try, I say. Don't leave before the miracle happen! Good luck Bobby!
