1:10PM PST Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the movie wasn't being shot today, and the person who died in the tank was prepping it -- possibly cleaning it -- when someone noticed no bubbles from the gear were surfacing. That's when they pulled the man out of the water.

A Walt Disney spokesperson just confirmed our story, saying, "We regretfully confirm that a Lone Ranger crew member has passed away after being taken to a local hospital," adding "our full support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this terrible event."

2:28PM PST Law enforcement sources tell us, it appears he had a heart attack. Investigators are treating it as a "natural death." An autopsy will be completed over the weekend.

A crew member working on the new Johnny Depp movie "The Lone Ranger" died this morning after drowning on the set and going into full cardiac arrest ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... the man was a diver who was working in a tank on the Los Angeles set ... when something went wrong.

We're told someone on the crew called 911 to report a medical emergency ... and when responders arrived to the scene the man was in full cardiac arrest.

He was helicoptered to a nearby hospital, but EMTs were unable to restart his heart on the flight. Law enforcement sources tell us he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

"Helicoptered" or was he airlifted? Tmz your writers never disappoint.

I hope this man can rest in peace and that his family has a lot of love and support around them in the months to come.

I don't know what's worse, the picture that looks nothing like DEPP as if you'd have a picture of him, or that headline. Shame on you, TMZ. You don't need to bold and brazen the crew member dead, that's just disrespectful.
.
My condolences to the gentleman's family and friends. Loss of life is always sad.

The lone ranger was a great weekly show back in the day and we loved it. Seems a remake is cursed and yes that makeup and the costumes are a tragedy too. Sorry for the family and friends for your loss. You folks making this movie might want to scrap it and move onto another project.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto walked into a bar
and sat down for a couple of beers. A few minutes later, a lanky, bow-legged cowboy walked in and said,
"Who owns the big white horse outside?"
"I do", the Lone Ranger replied. "Why?"
The cowboy drawled, "You better take care of him. He¹s almost dead from the heat."
The Lone Ranger and Tonto rushed outside and found Silver leaning against the hitching post, panting. They got him some water and soon Silver was looking better, but he was still panting.
The Lone Ranger said, "Tonto, run around Silver as fast as you can and see if the breeze makes him feel any better.
Tonto replied, "Sure, Kemosabe," and began running around and around Silver. The Lone Ranger returned to the bar to finish his beer.
A few minutes later, another cowboy came into the bar and drawled, "Who owns that big white horse outside?"
"I do," the Lone Ranger said, "What's wrong with him this time?"
"Nothin'," the cowboy said, "But you left your Injun runnin'
