John Krasinski & Emily Blunt

We Dropped $2 Mil

On Eco-Friendly Mansion

EXCLUSIVE

"Office" star John Krasinski and his real life "Pam" Emily Blunt are environmental warriors ... the couple just bought a $2 million house way out in the country -- run on RENEWABLE ENERGY TECHNOLOGY!!!!

The couple purchased the 4,177 square-foot-pad in Ojai -- nicknamed the 'Shangri-la of CA' thanks to the city's focus on health and spirituality -- back in June for $2,150,000.

But get this, the 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath digs is totally eco-friendly and decked out with state of the art renewable energy technology -- including giant solar panels, which help power their crib ... by harnessing the power of the sun.

Not only that, it sits on 5 acres surrounded by mountains and hiking trails ... has a brand new pool and spa ... separate guest house and is walking distance to an organic farmers market (ah!).

FUN FACT: The house has major historical significance too ... it was once the site of the first Ojai Foothills Hotel back 1903 ... which helped put Ojai on the map as a tourist destination.

Organic farming is more harmful to the planet, and eating organic foods has zero benefit over eating non organic.

To whomever wrote this this headline: clearly, you and I have vastly different ideas about what constitutes a mansion. The house in the 21 pictures used in this story reflect what I call a large house, but hardly a mansion. On another note, does going green mean you also have to go ugly? This house has some of the ugliest rooms I've ever seen displayed on an entertainment website. The decor is hideous, the furniture is underwhelming and the house in general does not look warm, comfortable or inviting. I love John and Emily, but not at all a fan of this house.

your own luck

Yes, I know they are famous and I guess this is their attempt to be eco-friendly, but if they were really serious about this, they wouldn't be living in a house this size for 2 people with all this acreage. Make your carbon footprint smaller.

Fantastic Four

Its an environmental crime-in-progress that they destroyed the beautiful and historic Ojai hotel to build this monstrosity.

Doesn't seem too environmentally friendly to me.
Their power bill is $2,418 a month on PGEs database.

Come on TMZ! You are now a beloved eco-friendly celebrity because you have ugly solar panels gracing your 5 acre property? It is so lovely that the toxic panels really blend in to the Ojai ecosystem. I hardly notice them at all. I am sure all the ground-dwelling wildlife in Ojai are enjoying them as well. Ohh...and the solar panels really blend in to all the toxic non eco-friendly products that grace the inside of their new home. This story should be about another snot nosed celebrity buys another ridiculously large home in the millions proving yet again how out of touch they are with the rest of the world when they & TMZ think a GROUND installation of solar panels make you a "environmental warriors" of the environment.
