LeVar Burton OUTRAGED

Over Romney PBS Attack --

He's Destroying Our Kids!

EXCLUSIVE

Former "Reading Rainbow" host LeVar Burton is PISSED after Mitt Romney threatened to cut PBS funding last night -- telling TMZ, Romney would be stealing an invaluable educational resource from underprivileged children.

LeVar tells us, "I am personally outraged that any serious contender for the White House would target as part of his campaign the children of America in this fashion."

"Educators across the country, as well as millions of children and adults know that the programming on PBS has been responsible for significant improvements in education, literacy, math, science and life skills for generations of our children."

In case you missed the Presidential debate, Mitt promised to cut funding to PBS claiming it isn't an essential government expense -- but LeVar's firing back, claiming, "PBS represents .00016% of our nation's budget, yet this free resource benefits kids across all economic circumstances."

He adds, "Defunding PBS directly punishes the less fortunate by removing this trusted and extraordinary educational resource available to all."

"On behalf of America's children, I can't stay silent. I encourage you to join me in fighting this short-sighted and frankly mean-spirited attack on our children."

Romney is right. We do not need to be borrowing money from China to fund things like PBS. Looking desperate, Mr. Levin.

Oh please. Of all the things to get your panties in a bunch about. My kid was reading at age 2, because I worked with him and read him books constantly, not because of some show on the tv. If more parents took the time to work with their own kids, we wouldn't need programs that are funding by the Chinese out there. So stupid.

What is Burton talking about. Everyone in this country has owned a Big Bird/ frog / pig toy at sometime in their lives. Seasame Street is one of the wealthiest franchises in the country. 40 years of toys, lunch boxes, paper party supplies, bedding , wall paper etc. .. Few companies make the kind of profits . Romney is 100 percent dead on!!!

This is GREAT! After last night Romney has my vote! WE ARE BROKE PEOPLE! EVERY penny counts! Anyone out there who can’t see that serious changes need to be made NOW should make an appointment with a proctologist and have their head removed from their a$$!

LeVar is not keeping up with the times...
1. PBS is viewer funded, and funded by school districts and private business who make donations, not to be funded by federal tax dollars....
2. There are much better shows now, Nick Jr., Kubo, so many, no longer just the 'one from way back when'...
3. LeVar could stop taking his royalties from his
Reading Rainbow episodes to fund Big Bird....afterall he apparently is still a 'viewer'
4. Our children are safe, this is an immature platform, dont we all have a better idea of how our tax dollars should be used?

Money, money, money. Look at all the money would be in the US pockets if Bush never went to 'war'. Billions. Billions people! Now you want this same party back in to waste more money? The republicans made this mess, Obama is doing his best to fix their mess, they say he's didn't do it fast enough, so give it back to us! You all will be REAL sorry if Romney is re-elected!!!

It's simple math Like Obama says except he can't add and subtract apparently. You don't pay for things you don't have the income for. We desperately need to stop borrowing money from China. We also don't need to be lending money to other countries when we are having to borrow it from someone else to give it to them. He's had 4 years and he's only made the bill we pay higher and higher. He killed the pipeline project as well. We need more jobs so more people can pay taxes. So more people can afford to shop which in turns boost the economy. So Far I side with Romney as his plan sounds more logical.

I work for a Cable provider one of the top providers; underprivileged families are given FREE CABLE AND INTERNET. PBS aka DNC Indoctrination channel would stand to make millions in the private sector and in advertising.

This is ridiculous - get over it people. Some things need to be cut - sorry can't please everybody - people need to get a grip on the deficit and quit whining about PBS and Big Bird.

Oh for God's Sake! If PBS disappeared today, it wouldn't do a darn thing to our kids! Is that the best you people can do in your feable attempt to discredit Mitt's debate performance? All that tells me is, he did a fabulous job if his attacking PBS is the only thing you can find to bitch about. God, get a life, Levar!

This is such bullsh$t - what he said was that he didn't want to borrow money from China to support PBS - Typical response from someone who doesn't listen - Maybe our children should get off their fat asses - stop watching TV and go out side and play.
